Where will they be coaching next year:

1. Will Muschamp?
2. Brian Kelly?
3. Mark Richt?
4. Derek Dooley?

1. Muschamp is ready for prime time. There are many programs that would come after him.
2. Kelly will be snatched.
3. Richt gets told to clean house and gets a very short leash. The softest coach in the SEC gets the rough treatment.
4. I think he ends up at his alma mater, Virginia.

Add your thoughts on these, or add other coaches.

Muschamp is making a million bones and is the CIW at Texas. He'll be in Austin next year.

I agree on 2 and 3. The UVA job will be open. Dooley has a good shot but need to finish well.

1. Isn't Muschamp "coach-in-waiting" at Texas? If so, I don't think he bails on that just yet. Don't think there will be a big enough job available.
2. Brian Kelly- Michigan State. I think they'll struggle the whole way and make a change.
3. Mark Richt- They'll make some changes in Athens and the UGA Bulldogs will be fine again next year with some more mature talent. Bye bye Willie Martinez, though.
4. Derek Dooley- If LaTech keeps laying these eggs, he'll still be right there in Ruston.

1) Muschamp - right back in Austin, TX. Only other possibility would be if A&M makes a change and offers him huge money
2) Somebody throws a big wallet at this guy. Maybe it's Michigan State, maybe it's NC State (although that guy has only been there 2 years I think) but my pick would be Louisville to throw the big money at him to steal him from in-conference rival.
3) He'll change DC's and such but he's not going anywhere
4) La Tech - haven't they been getting pounded?

1. Texas as the CIW.

2. Kelly goes to Michigan State.

3. Richt stays at Georgia.

4. La Tech. Thank God we didn't hire him like some of our fans wanted to do. He's not ready for the SEC. It would have been a typical LT hire- guy with a name to generate a little interest, but can't coach or is not ready for the big time. Essentially a side show with little substance like Croom.

But, Louisville ought to be tired of one-trick-pony head coaches.

Malzahn to UL is a good fit. Papa John can roll into Opelika in his tricked out 73 camaro with a suitcase of bills. And it would only take the overnight bag, not the 70 pounder, to get Malzahn.

I don't think it is a terrible hire. He's a good coach that is doing some decent things with a team that doesnt get a lot of talent. I think we could do a whole lot worse. That might be something to consider.

But I think we need to aim a little higher first. And I am not sure that Dooley's specialty is defense. I know he coached under Saban, but wasn't he an offensive coach?

It should be an easy sell for Mullen. It is an SEC DC position (and one that has consistently yielded good results), and Mullen can show that he is scoring with Tyson Lee at the helm. He just needs a defense to make the magic happen.

I am not sure what I would prefer. He could go after a DC from out West, luring them with the SEC, someone that gave him and Urban fits in the past, or he can get a top assistant off of one of the top SEC defenses. Bama, Florida, South Carolina, etc. Finally, you have small school HCs, like Dooley. Preferably someone that was an assistant at a big school before being hired on as an HC.

Regardless, I think if the status quo is maintained this year, Torbush will be gone.

or at least consider sticking around. It was in his contract, that if UC made it to a BCS bowl they'd get an indoor practice facility. Right now they practice at the stadium in the middle of campus, which is pretty cool, especially when they crank the speakers up and blare the crowd noise. Problem is, there's not exactly ample room on campus for that kind of thing (think USM, only with 2.5x the enrollment and half the space). The people here are convinced that even if he stays for the 2010 season, some Big10 team/ND will throw a truckload of money his way, and he'll be gone if not this year, then definitely next year. After all, this was supposed to be Cincy's "down year," so they're exceeding expectations so far.

hire another Bronco? Wash. State, Memphis (don't they need someone better when they join the SEC?), T A&M, and Ill might open up as well. I don't think they can the guy at Mich State. He did just beat UM.

Would they go down that path again? I think Kelly is waiting on ND or Penn State, and maybe even Ohio State. He can stay at Cincy and keep getting to BCS games every so often, as opposed to Michigan State.

he was on my short list before we hired Mullen. Of course, I'm now glad that we hired Mullen, which shows how much I know.
