It defies all logic he's still here if they want him gone. It isn't like Auburn is know for caution on these things.

There really aren't many candidates out there that there are sure things.

Who replaces him? What big name coach replaces Tubby? It would have to be a big name because it is going to cost them close to 6 million to buy him out, and they have to go hire a coach in the 3-4 million dollar range to find a coach that is a big time hire.

Who is would that be?

I really don't know who they could get that is an option.

Say he really is burned out and in need of a break, but decides to take the State job. He doesn't put any effort into recruiting or coaching, and just coasts along until we have to get rid of him. It'll just be more fodder for the armchair idiots who get us confused with Mississippi to talk about "how difficult it is to win at Mississippi State."

If Tommy Tubberville can't win at MSU, blah blah blah.

He has made so much money in the last ten years that his 6 million dollar handshake will remove all financial incentive for him to bust ***. He will coast till we fire him in 5-6 years, at which time he will be set for life. TT is a bad hire.

We need someone who will be getting their first big check and will bust *** to try and prove themselves and get a better job.
