look for Dabo Swinney's name to start surfacing at TAMU. Then you might see Smart in the mix at Clemson.

And Ole Memp is going to throw $1.5 at somebody, probably Jim McElwain. Would be the third highest paid Koosa coach.

Love the carousel.

but how is Illinois even remotely comparable to the aTm job? Hell, I would think the Clemson job was better than Illinois.

He was raised in Indianapolis. He coached at Purdue and Minnesota. I guess he knows the area pretty well.

Of course, the same thing can be said for his Oklahoma/Texas experience.

I just can't see aTm going the coordinator route. Makes no sense to me for them to do that. I'm guessing he's like Freeze - a 5th or 6th fall back position.

to aTm ...i am sure it is just rumor via twitter, but could he finally be fed up with BCS ...i wouldn't think so with boise going to the big east, but i never saw a statement saying he wasn't interested...

Earz back in the SEC? Seems like a natural thing if you ask me.

The carousel is spinning!

I think that if he had not taken that job at Tech, he would have his pick of jobs. I belive that he would have people beating his door down to interview him for open positions.</p>

told me at church on Sunday that he was told by an (ole misser) friend of his backin Miss that Sumlin was in Oxford last Tuesday talking to them about the coaching vacancy.

A few minutes later I ran into and talked to an elderlyretired U of H friend of mine ...He regularly volunteers in their athletic dept (letters to potential recruits and all).. and knows a lot about what is happening at U of H. He said that Sumlin was not in Oxford last Tuesday, but it is possible his agent was there discussing the open reb-bear coaching vacancy.

Sumlin is a good coach, who has tremendous high school contacts here in the Houston- East Texas- Dallas Metroplex talent rich area. He should make the Aggies a good coach/recruiter. Heck the guy he replaced at U of H(Art Briles) has done a good job bringing Baylor back from the dead.

If Mullen had gone to Penn State,...would have love to see Sumlin hired...just for his recruiting contacts!

Based on what? His team getting their *** beat by Southern Miss with a BCS spot on the line? Houston got exposed worse than any team I have ever seen, they never should have been near the top 15 and with even a remotely difficult schedule you wouldn't have heard their name once this season. They had Keenam, he is what made them what they were, not Sumlin. Sumlin is trying to cash in big somewhere this season but I wouldn't want him anywhere near my school and I don't see how anyone else would either. How could you watch the Houston Southern Miss game and think that guy is a good coach? You will never hear of this guy again after this year except for when he is fired.

Based on what?

Based on the same thing that made a lot of people on this board want Turner Gil after 1 good year at a large high school.
