Also that pic was clearly taken in the second half when we were up by double digits and our fans had been in the sun for 2 hours already.
A lot of people moved to the west side after the first quarter for the shade and it was pretty full on that side

The visitor side (where we sat the first half) and student section were scalding hot. I saw or my wife (nurse) assisted 3 people who passed out or were going down. Glad a friend invited us to 210 for the second half, or we might have watched the second half from the house, too. Why does football keep getting earlier in the year?

It's more like the heat gets later in the year.

However, the Arizona State game was relatively cool. And part of the game was at night. Yesterday didn't compare to Memphis but it was still hot, especially if you were in the sun.

Hell's coming with me...

Where's Morningstar???
Whatever is going on I take no part. Now as to my opinion about this thread. Just ones Devils opinion, but I have season tickets and did not show for this one. I coach high school ball. Got no sleep, and had family in town. I don’t know if that makes me pathetic or not? For what it is worth I have been to pretty much every large game or SEC game since 86.

it’s pathetic for us to be an SEC team and only have 30k at the game, because we are the only school currently struggling with attendance while being 4-0 for the first time since 2018. None of our first 3 games were impressive attendance wise. Arizona State was #12 in the country, with absolutely perfect weather and we had at least 10k empty seats, with people leaving at halftime. It’s a problem we’ve had for awhile.

Please don’t bring up the single mom of two working late excuses or “I live 6 hours away!” That’s not who we are relying to show up for games.
I didn't bring up a single mom of two working late, I brought up a lifelong season ticket holder who had no way to make it happen this week because whether you like it or not, four straight home games is a burden, and how much effort is he expected to put forward to flip his one ticket to someone else?

That picture is at the beginning of the second half. It was a 4 point game at halftime.
No homey ...that picture was well into the fourth Quarter when the cloud cover came in.... the sun was out at the beginning of the third quarter.....those of us who stayed for the whole game know these things

The very first home game of my freshman year in 1990 was against Tennessee at 11:30 on Sept. 8 (I Googled it). I was a pledge in my fraternity, so had to go early to save seats, and the (pre-JWS) dress code at the time was a coat and tie. That was the hottest I’d ever been at a football game in our stadium.

Saturday reminded me of that day. My seats are on the east side, and the sun/heat were brutal. Almost no cloud cover at all, until FINALLY sometime in the 3rd/4th Q a big one rolled in, which is probably the only reason we were able to stay til the end.

Az State was at night and during a big cooldown. Saturday is looking like the weather will be better, so I bet the crowd will be, too.

No it’s not, check the ribbon board in the picture. It was taken with about 11 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. This is just after State scored to go up 21-10.

I imagine it started clearing out after the score.

We are 4-0 after going 2-10. Let's save the bitching and moaning. Thats about all we could do for the past 2 years. Let's enjoy it.

Was this after the lightning warning was announced encouraging people move to cover? The announcement had a lot of fans thinking the game was delayed. NIU Team even started heading to the locker room before the clarification came

Just read his posts for awhile going forward. I think it'll become apparent.
I think I get it. So the fight is over state fandom. There seems to be two sides here. One saying: if you do not go to every game regardless of any concerns, then that somehow lessens your fandom. With another side saying there have been several games in a row, and some folks had to miss due to legitimate concerns.

OK, I hope that sums up the two sides. Now I guess I am supposed to pick a side. Ok, so, I was one of the ones that did not make it. Even though I have season scoreboard club tickets, I chose not to attend. My reasons were I am an o line coach and real estate guy when I am not running Hell. So we had a late Friday night game that I did not get home from until 3am. Plus, my wife and I had family in town on Saturday. I do not know if these reasons are legitimate enough for me to miss? Obviously, retire the banner is the judge on this.

I also do not know if the fact that I gave my tickets away to fellow State people for free buys me anymore or less credit. I actually did it two weeks in a row for both Alcorn and NIU. Does the fact that I have been to every SEC home game since 86 buy me any credit either?

At the end of the day, it is dumb to even have this argument. People should be able to do what they want to do with their free time. I think you Americans fought a war over that with some guy named George over this. I just think it is your time. Do with it as you will.

I'm highly suspicious since you're not known for your generosity. Was there a catch or did you do it just because it was going to be miserably hot and wanted them to suffer?
This is true. I am not usually. But Mrs. Devil made a point that we should just give them away instead of trying to sell them. So, as with most households, Momma made the decision on this one. The weather was not my doing. I do not have control of the heat.
