My wife and I were discussing the other day that despite high gas prices and the such, that it is possible for us to attend all 12 games rather easily. This article backs that up. We will log the 8th lowest mileage of all D-I teams this year.

So here's the question - if we are going to play six away games, do you prefer a schedule with four away SEC games and two drivable away games, or one "trip" like BYU, Oregon or West Virginia?</p>

gas prices won't be much of a delta from last year anyway. Have a station here in town that now has regular gas for 3.39/gallon.

...is swearing we'll see $2.90 gas in MS by Christmas.

/now back to your regularly scheduled thread discussion.

I'd much prefer seeing us play the BYU, WV type games.

if its a good one. I have no desire though to go to WV or BYU. I did go to Oregon. Great trip. Something like that. Stillwater seems like it would've been a good one too. Plenty of choices---BYU and WV just arent 2 of them.

True story: I know a guy that went all the way out to Oregon with tickets for him and his friends to the game and lost all the tickets in the airport. Idiot.

I like the bigger games, especially if I am going to attend. Right now I like our schedule though. Let's beat up some pansies, build up a little bit, and then add the hard games back in. We REALLY need a bowl game this year to keep the recruiting gravy-train flowing so I'm liking our current schedule.

And here's the problem. We've been paying $4 a gallon long enough to think $3.39 is a good deal. Holy crap people, we were paying less than $2 before Katrina! I will stay pissed about gas prices until they drop below $2.50...in short, I may be pissed about gas prices for the rest of my life.

As for sports, I like MSU.

but the BP on Old Hickory Blvd (off 40 East) was $3.22/gal today. I know this has nothing to do with taking football trips, but thought I'd give you a head's up on the cheapest gas in town.

so I pass that station every day. Thanks for the heads up.

To make this sports related, am I the only one that thinks that is the oddest location for a driving range? I mean, it's always busy, but you normally do not see driving ranges in the middle of suburbia.

Even years we go to Alabama, LSU, Ole Miss, and a rotating East team. For someone living in MS, this isn't a terrible road slate.

Odd years we go to Auburn, Arkansas, Kentucky, and another rotating East team. This is a hellacious travel schedule, made only slightly easier if we play Arkansas in Little Rock.

I personally would prefer that we do the big "trip" games in even years since it's balanced with an easier SEC travel schedule.

Odd numbered years, I'd prefer the La Techs, Tulanes, and UABs of the world. Something you can drive to in three to six hours.

And the "shortness" of this year's road schedule is a relief to me, since last year we had long hauls to Little Rock, Lexington, Auburn, Columbia, and Morgantown. I welcome it.
