If you had 50 to put on someone other than Eldrick, who would it be?
Ernie Els seems like a good bargain at +1600. Good links player with a win and 8 top fives.

Although he's been 17-ing with his swing this year and has generally sucked, I'd be hard-pressed not to put my money on Padraig.

If not Padraig, then I'd go with Stricker if he has at something like 30/1 or worse. That guy is too good not to have a major yet. He's played well at the Open recently as well.

And, for long shots, either of the Argentine golfers. Romero or Cabrera.

He just can't seem to get it done. But I'd love to see him prove me wrong.

Retief is playing well.
Martin Kaymer is coming off an impressive win in Scotland.
Kenny Perry is playing well

But I'm going with Hunter Mahan as my dark horse.

I feel like this might be Ian Poulter's year. And I'll also put Soren Hansen in there as my dark horse (maybe not so dark tying for 6th in the U.S. Open).

I agree on with the poster who brought up Kaymer as an underdog, David Toms is playing well too. Zach Johnson has played well the last few weeks and hits it straight. I would throw out David Duval for sentimental reasons. Not sure Harrington or Garcia are playing well enough right now to be in the mix, but it should be a fun week to watch.

his game always depends on how he plays on thursday. when he is playing confident he is good. I like Hunter Mahan also, he always finds a way to post a low score on Sundays and come up just short of the leader.

based on a good liking of his game (though he can be pretty erratic in his results in majors) and an odd influx of swedes in my life (ladies, jens lekman, the hives, and the appearance of a white knit sweater) i would have to ride the mojo to henrik stenson. 9 years ago i would have definately put money on jesper parnevik (crazy guy with great taste in nannies)
