Says he "Has no way of knowing at this time" when asked if there was anything that might cause Newton to not be able to finish the season...

and "it's still ongoing" reffering to the investigation.

So if you are as confident as the au fans seem to be, do you as the ad, throw them in a panic by letting them think there is a chance their superman might not be able to finish the season? Isnt it easier to just say "No comment"?

Friday and over the weekend they were certain that a decent man such as Cecil Newton could not have done something such as this. At least their fans and coach were, their admin doesn't seem so certain it sounds like to me.</p>

there is not enough to catch Auburn on, but Newton receiving money from "an agent" could deem him ineligible. Auburn may get off, but not Newton.

its proven that Daddy Cecil was definitely in cahoots with Rogers (or whoever else) in shopping Cam around for these ridiculous amounts we are hearing about then Cam deserves to sit. And if that's what happened, regardless of what Auburn did or didn't do, this mess would have all been started by Cecil's greed to make a major payday off of Cam's recruitment.

odds he won't make it to the Iron Bowl. Thebookie may be full of crap but John Bond didn't make thisstory up and their seems to be alot of smoke around Cecil so my gut tells me Cecil is dirty on this deal. I don't think Cam knew much other than his dad needed money and he respects his dad and went where he told him to go. He probably knew dad would be taken care of if he did thatwhich overruled where he really wanted to go which was MSU; in a twisted way I respect Cam for trying to help his father but Cecil should have his *** kicked.

regardless of where this thing goes, I think there's no doubt that Newton finishes the season.

Auburn will NOT sit him out "just in case he's declared inelligible". They're much better off riding him through the end of the season, then vacating the wins. Who really cares about vacated wins anyway. The fans and the school will still claim the NC if they end up winning it.

Furthermore, we all know that the NCAA moves at a snail's pace in matters like these (see Renardo and Reggie Bush for further proof). There's no way they make a ruling before the end of the season.

The Mule will finish the season, probably win the Heisman, then will likely be delcared inelligible 2-3 years from now.

Nothing will happen before the BCS title game if they get there. Slive is so corrupt that he will make sure of it. There is no question though that the Auburn administration is nervous because they probably know that something went down. Now, let's see if the NCAA does their job.

USC's scholarship sanction have not begun to effect them just yet. Winning the MNC was fun, I'm sure, but now its tainted and they are going to have at least 4 or 5 years of suckitude as their punishment. The only fans who are likely to enjoy that tradeoff are the ones who were students at the time of winning.

For a school like MSU, we would probably gladly make that trade, since we are likely to have 4 or 5 years of suckitude whether we win a title or not. Auburn has a long history of getting caught cheating, and having their title tainted in that way would really sting.

and this is why I think until they amend this rule people will continue to abuse it. Vacated wins are the NCAA equivalent of "you shouldn't 'uh dun that..."
