AU is without a doubt our most important game next year

If we can get by Auburn (and I think we will), we have a legit shot at 10 wins and starting 7-0. 7-0 heading into Tuscaloosa, with the Tide coming off back to back road games, and a trip to Baton Rouge staring them in the face. That game will be much closer than people think.

Thoughts?

But I would say that Auburn, Ole Miss and A&m are toss up as well and until we can beat Arkansas on a more consistent bases I would call it a lost and I mean more then twice in a five year period. Just my opinion and I hope that you turn out to be a football god.

is a disaster right now and A&M loses a ton. My prediction is really based on a strong start. i.e. beating Auburn. We beat them and then feed off the momentum. Lose to that garbage team and Katie bar the door. We could be in for another sub-par year.

which Mullen has done, we definitely have a legitimate shot at 7-0 heading into Bama, hinging on the Auburn game. I think we are no worse than 5-2 at that point (losses to AU and one of UK/TN).

That said, we could easily lose the next four in a row (I would have A&M as toss up, and ARK as a toss up may be wishful thinking). That's a TOUGH stretch.

You're right though - like last year, the AU game is very important. Win it, and we may be looking at 7-0. Then we could realistically be looking at 9-2 or 8-3 going into the Egg Bowl.

then the ethically challengedwhores on the plains will get what is coming to them at some point. Lord knows karma will never come in the form of 17ing mike slive. So maybe it happens on the field in some way. That would be righteous.

Bama, LSU, Arky auto losses.

AU, UT, aTm, om, are toss ups. Although we should beat om'sa** again like a tied up goat. Should beat aTm and UT....AU i don't know.

The other 4 should be wins.

AU is an important game every year, considering it is almost always one of our first 3 games. I'm betting that it will also be our 'most important game' in 2013.

It was an abomination that they beat us last year. One of the worst coaching jobs I have ever seen.

Mullen should have started prepping for Auburn yesterday. I'm serious. We were so poorly prepared in the game last year it was pathetic. As someone already mentioned, the circumstances with last years AU game and this years game are exactly the same. Win that game, our season team goals are still attainable. Lose that game, and the next stop is Suck City.

so AU is not the "most" critical. If we lose to AU, TN becomes the most critical. UM is probably going to be tougher than most thing. The Beave's offense (luckily for OM) doesn't require a ton of talent to be effective. I think their offense will give everyone other than the elite defenses trouble. Fortunately, I don't see their defense being much better than last year's. That said, i expect a high scoring game between us.

A&M and Arkansas kind of fall into a "who knows" category for me. Put me in the 7-5/8-4 camp for next year.

Because the last thing I was implying was that we would beat Auburn. A lot of folks are saying 7-0 which includes wins over AU and TN. I said I expect us to split those games and did not indicate which we would win.

Auburn popped us in the mouth. We had every chance to win that game, but they wanted it more than us. Not an excuse, just the truth.

Now we've got them at home, with all the distractions removed. We're playing from a position that MSU notoriously plays better from: the underdog. Plus, we have actually learned a little how to deal with expectations by following up a big year with another successful, while somewhat disappointing year. We were still winners in the big scheme of things last year.

especially in Oxford.

Ole Miss may be a dumpster fire, I really don't know. I hear Jeff Scott got in a fight and quit, I also hear Brassell and Freeze don't see eye to eye. I have no idea, but I do know they'll be fired up and ready to play us up there next year. Think Mullen 2009 type emotion. We better bring our A game. Hard for me to believe they could be any bigger of a shitpile than they were last year. Just a new coach will help vs. a lameduck one. And even in the shittiest of years, you can still rise up and beat better teams at home if they are asleep.....see their Arkansas game last year.

I think this badly needs to be the year we get a win against another West team besides the cellar dwellars up north. Auburn looks to be as good a place as any to start. A&M I am not so sure about. I may be wrong but I thought they were a ranked team last year. They reminded me of our basketball team this year. Get a big lead on teams and then blow it late. Having them at home will be a huge plus.
