Augusta just took a great fall in golf world after that press conference.

A spin job by Ridley for the ages.

Bottom line CBS/Masters need Woods on the course.

Anxious to hear Nicklaus weigh in.

Didn't see it ... was out doing yard work. Is it on Golf Channel or ESPN ... or CBS?

Yes, CBS needs Tiger but that's no reason not to DQ him. I just don't think it was disqualifiable ... the rules says DQ is at the discretion of the tournament committee and in the end, I think they made the right decision based upon the rules.

Golf channel i agree with Chamblee. It is more that Tiger should WD than Augusta DQ him. He violated the honor of the game.

A spin job indeed. I agree that it was handled the way it was because of it being Tiger, but ask what you mean by CBS and Masters needing Tiger. It was less than 10 years ago that the Masters was broadcast commercial free due to controversy. It is financially sound. Yes they would like to keep Tiger as they have, but to need Tiger?

Curtis Strange and the guys ESPN is talking to say he should not WD

Or else it will pretty much end the new rule, which they all think is good for golfers in general.

he didn't dishonor the game, he moved the ball back a bit, which would be totally legal if he'd been using the flight path method, or whatever it's called.

He purposely dropped the ball further back to get a better shot. That's dishonor in my book.

Not shocking. Has Augusta ever stood for equal treatment?

I'm not saying they don't have a right to do what they did, but it shouldn't come as a huge surprise that a powerful person was given leeway where a less powerful person would not be given it.

Give me a break. He didn't need a better shot. The shot he hit the first time was basically perfect

When he took that Drop

In my opinion he was not mentally beating on all cylinders.

He had just had a horrendously bad break, and just did not think.

It was like somebody just punched him in the gut, and he had not yet recovered.

I watched him as this was happening, that's what I thought, I sort of wondered about the drop, but I assumed it was ok.
Because "It was Tiger", and also.... his caddie"should have addressed it with him.

So Tiger broke rule 26-1 and knows it, but yet he plays on. Wow. As someone on twitter said, Tiger cheats on golf too.

There probably wouldn't even be an issue being made out of this for the other golfers out there. No one would have even noticed

Kinda like Mark Stanford running for office again. Except Tiger's moral shortcomings don't have the potential to affect my life.

That's 21-6b.

Or else it will pretty much end the new rule, which they all think is good for golfers in general.

he didn't dishonor the game, he moved the ball back a bit, which would be totally legal if he'd been using the flight path method, or whatever it's called.

He wasn't close to applying that rule. Remember, the ball kicked left and entered the water from a different angle. He could have chosen 21-6b, but if he did he would have gone to a totally different area of the course to use it. He chose 21-6a and later admitted he didn't apply it correctly.

Give me a break. You don't give a **** about the honor of the game. You probably just want Tiger DQ'ed in principle. Like most everyone that thinks he should be out.
