making the NCAAs one year since 2004 (only as an 8 seed) is not "filling the void" adequately. Nobody can convince me that we would not have had higher quality, more experienced teams if the majority of the guys who played significant minutes had stayed. Right now we are perpetually young and inexperienced.

"We have always had someone step in and fill the void yet we always run around like chicken little every time someone transfers."

Since Ervin started the recent trend of starters leaving our program, we have made the NCAA Tourney 1 time in the last 4 years. Obviously these guys arent being replaced. Obviously the turnover is hurting production- because we arent producing. If we lose another 2-3 players, somebody is going to have to admit that we have a problem

We've definitely got a problem and we have had for a few years now. If Stans can't do a better job of retaining his players (either by recruiting guys who aren't pussies or by handling them better when he gets them to Starkville) it will catch up to him and eventually cost him his job. It's not to that point yet (and won't be even if Augustus does leave, which I'm just assuming is going to happen and will be pleasantly surprised if he does stay), but he's got to stop the bleeding soon.

...beat the "We don't need him anyway/ He's just a spoiled brat. His Daddy is crazy" drum when he leaves. Will you step up and be that man?

I mean, every time somebody transfers, it turns out that that person just had something wrong with them or their family. Nevermind that the three most recent impact transfers (Hans and the Delks) were the scrappy guys on our team that did things like hustle and play defense.

I don't know about the rest, but I can tell you with 100% certainty that Hansbrough left because of his dad. in fact if his dad had his way he would have been gone after his freshman year
