The BIG 12 has a big issue. The media is promoting B10 squads for the playoffs and NY6 games ahead of the BIG 12. But do the actual results of the teams from the two conferences reflect what the media is doing? You basically have 2 B12 schools and 2 B10 sqads in position to either reach a playoff game or a Ny6 game or both. B12: playoff committee ranked currently: OK State 22 Texas 20 OU 11 ISU 7 OU has played 9 games, playing 10 by Sat. played all ranked teams from conference. Beat OK state 41-13, beat Texas 53-45, Lost to ISU 37-30, will replay Record: 7-2 likey 8-2 going into CCG (@WVU this week) ISU has played 10 games – Including all ranked teams. Beat Texas 23-20, beat OU 37-30, lost to OK St 24-21, will replay OU Record: 8-2 going into CCG B10: playoff committee ranked teams current: Iowa 16 NWestern 14 IU 12 OSU 4 IN has played 7 total games. Played only Ohio State amongst ranked B10 teams. Lost 42-35 Record: 6-1 OSU has played 5 total games. Played only IU amongst ranked B10 teams. Won 42-35. Will play ranked Nwestern in CCG Record: 5-0 Even with 2 losses, the B12 teams have played MORE games than B10 teams. 3 more than Indiana and 5 more than Ohio State. ISU has MORE WINS than Indiana or tOSU OU currently has SAME # wins as Indiana and MORE WINS than Ohio State, with likely another coming this weekend at WVU barring a season high performance from WVU for a win. BIG 12 schools also played an OOC game, which B10 teams did not, and played more conference games. For the committee and/or media pushing and guiding the committee to just automatically award B10 schools the playoff berth and NY6 games over B12 schools is basically theft at this point based on actual records. Don't give Sagarin a ton of legitimacy, but a quick look there of conference strength at present shows: B12 #2 ( and really #1 because he ranks the SEC west as a CONFERENCE when its actually only HALF a conference) B10 East is #4 and B10 West (again its not really SEPARATE but the SAME conference!) B10 West is #6 The B12 has a case and needs to press it instead of simply accepting being relegated down the totem pole.
