He must have jumped Mississippi St over us thanks to Marquette run.
yes its a small tick but with Marquette now a possible 2 it matters. Certainly not as strong as a win as Purdue but remember MSU has just one bad loss.

I think Joe needs to reassess Providence though even with Marquette going to 2. 6-8 in Q1/2 with 10 wins coming in Q4 and the predictive metrics suck, worse than ru

I wonder if we have to root for PSU today???

2 wins over conference champ better than 1-1 over conference champ??

Does the committee take into account the margin of losses?

Our worst margin of defeat was 13 points (twice), once on the road to MSU (70-57) and once at home to Michigan (58-45). Other than those two games, we’ve lost by the following point margins: 6, 7, 1* (OSU), 2, 9, 11, 6, 9, 10, 1, 12, 5.

I’d venture a guess that all of the other teams on the bubble — and frankly most teams PERIOD — all have losses of 20+ points.

I have to think this is another data point in our favor, however slight.
That’s a great point and an average loss delta of 7.5 a game. Would love to know where that metric is as opposed to the rest of the field.

way too late, the field is already selected
So ditto on Memphis too then? Seton Hall also played Kansas. That’s why they only moved up to 78 with the Memphis win yesterday. FWIW, a Memphis win today would very likely propel SHU back into the top 75.

Brads commentary on rutgers in that video is embarrassing

he couldnt even remember who RU beat and then he basically downplayed beating 2 bubble teams in wisconsin and michigan and really downplaying a win at Penn State

there is no real time net and it wouldnt matter...the field is selected. SHU not moving up much based on results at this point, certainly not 3.

Bac when is the deadline to submit your bracket?

Do you think committee members rank all the teams and when they actually vote in the groups of teams that they go straight off their ranking sheets?

It really is the first thing I thought of and I bet I’m not alone.🤷‍♂️
Media recalibration per Coach. That whole Pike "phone smashing" thing hints that he was concerned about the team being distracted by erroneous coverage. He is sticking with that tactic. I wouldn't read too much into it.

He overcompensates. No one cares about the Mag injury. We won at Wisc and PSU without him. Almost beat Purdue again. He needs to stop with that, only hurts our case.

They might give you a break if you lost games with a guy injured, like Creighton with Kalkbrenner. They don't ding you for injuries though.
Even if it’s a player out for the season? Like I doubt they ding us for losing without Mag, but since he’s out for the season aren’t they just going to count those results as usual or will they give us a small pardon for losing without him

The committee almost certainly always takes injuries into account
Yes.. they will look at our overall record after the Mag injury and compare that to our overall resume and before the injury. The Tourney win and the tough game vs Purdue erased SOME of the doubts. I think we lost that first tourney game and badly as we lost out last game at the RAC we'd be OUT.. maybe first four out.. but OUT.

I say that because it would be too easy for those siding against our inclusions to say we are NOT the same team that built that resume. But now... with the good tourney performance... that lessens the impact of our downslide and makes that argument against us look weaker.

They may still punish us with Dayton.. depends on a lot of things, I'd imagine. Maybe they already know their Dayton teams. We will likely see one Big Ten team in Dayton given how many teams we will get in. I think that's why we got tagged for Dayton last year.

I hope they do the homework like that

Im holding off for a while because Im trying to figure out what im going to do with the big 10 mess at the 8/9. It would be seriously ****** up if Penn State wins the big 1o tourney and is seeded 10th. I am almost ready to say **** it and pull Illinois down to the 10 and keep Penn State 9

agree. his stuff about Mag was way overblown especially since they clearly showed in last 2 games it wasnt a factor...and guess what they won at Wisconisn who would be in the field if ru didnt beat them and won at Penn State. The only truly bad loss was Minnesota in that stretch. Losing to Michigan at home isnt a bad loss for petes sake
