How'd that work out? Nice to see some power out of the big guy tho, thats how you score some runs!

If he would have hit into a double play you would have been crying about that as well

We constantly give away outs and cost us runs, I'm gonna point that out. Honestly don't know why more people don't share my opinion on this. This is a sports board right?

People don't share your opinion because it's not a black and white issue. Bunting is not always right or, as you seem to think, always wrong.

When you have a 3 run lead and a leadoff hitter on, whether you like it or not, bunting the guy over is the right call.

Share your opinion on the bunting overall, but have accepted it as part of Cohen's offensive gameplan this season, for better or worse.

Constantly harping on it everytime it happens simply comes out overly critical and negative... even if that isn't your intention....

I think it's pretty safe to say that he's giving up outs pretty routinely. Might as well make them productive outs.

is this past weekend, where we bunted in 5 runs, and he praised Cohen for not bunting. Dude's just retarded.

With the lack of offense that we have, and a 3 run lead, you take any opportunity to build on it. Even if it's in the 3rd inning.

Stop being a whiny ******.

He's pretty much a double play waiting to happen no matter what you do. Not his fault - built for power, not for speed.

Another good sack bunt by Brownlee, then wasted by Frasier!

Come on Renfroe!

Moving guys to 2nd and 3rd with only 1 out, they were forced to give us a free runner and load the bases. The fact that we hit into a double play is completely irrelevant to your point.

but you do like our chances with a runner on first and a .215...sorry, a .213 hitter at the plate swinging away. Got it.

Brownlee doesn't bunt - gets a hit
Porter bunts - gives away an out, and we don't score.

After this game the fact that some still don't agree with me on this issue is amazing

Is that you can ***** in the midst of a 4-game conference winning streak, and against top-5 and top-20 teams. This teamis playing its *** off and "peaking at the right time."Our pitching staff is dominant right now, and we're scoring enough to win games. Sit back and enjoy what very well could be the most fun postseason in a while.

and runs scored or lack thereof- when you bunt you are usually only playing for one run anyway. So, it stands to reason that when you bunt you are going to score fewer runs. When you don't bunt- you might hit a three run home run, thus you score more runs by not bunting. So, I think the "you score fewer runs when you bunt" thing is a little bit skewed to say the least.

Regardless- it all goes back to the player and the situation. There is a time and a place to bunt. With Josh Hamilton- never. With Micheal Bourn- probably a good idea at times.

It also depends on who the pitcher is- Stanek for Arkansas is a guy that is going to pitch for Team USA and shut us down in Starkville. Any run against a guy like that is valuable.
