This morning I was awoken at the Hilton Garden Inn to the sounds of a bunch of commotion and yelling outside my window. So, I look out my window and the defense is doing their walk-through in the parking lot. I proceeded to watch most of the walk-through and at least 75% of the sets we were practicing were 3 man fronts. I hope this doesn't turn into a repeat of the Auburn game.

and LSU has more good ones than we do. Hate to say that but if LSU is truly prepared for this game it will not be close. Sets do matter but not nearly as much as personnel. We are going to have to take chances on both sides of the ball....got to blitz....got to throw.....really need to try deep some. I think we will have a good game plan and maybe Leon B will give us a spark!

I think the difference was that we blitzed more. Our defense sucked against Auburn because we were not aggresive enough, not because it was a 3 man line.

Must no realize that Joe Lee Dunn's best defenses were based on a 3-3-5. He actually invented the 3-3-5 at Ole Miss. Sometimes we had 4 down, somes 5 or 2, but our base was a 3 man front. Nobody seemed to notice because we had people like Wille Blade, Ellis Wyms, and Dorsett Davis.

But, we don't have players like that now. And we definitely don't have the cornerbacks. We all know what happened to JLD's defenses when he didn't have adequate CBs.

we had both. Blade, Dorsett Davis, Connor Stephens and then Bean and Smoot. He had everything in place to be successful.

Just kind of proves the point it almost doesn't matter what scheme you run, as long as you have NFL talent, you will be fine in college.
