I wish I had the Riley Quote, but he said Westercamp could be back for Purdue, but both should be ready for Wisconsin. The quote was before the bye week, and it was on this site

I don't see Carter being ready yet. Maybe OSU. Besides, it'll take a few weeks before he returns to his old self. Westercamp and a healthy Ziggy will help a lot though.

You say they play down to competition, but then use the close wins to be negative. Those are opposing forces.

How so? Do you think we are just 5 points better than Indiana? Or just 13 points better than Purdue? Those are the lower tier teams of the Big 10. I see the improvement being made from last year in that we are actually winning the close games and I'm glad about that. It's just...I guess I just wanted to have some confidence going into the games against Wisconsin and Ohio State and how we played against Purdue and Indiana didn't really give me much. But anything can happen as others have stated and I'm ecstatic about the 7-0 start deep down. I just have tempered expectations because the season isn't over yet and how we do in big games (like the ones coming up) will show me what I want to know about Riley and this staff. But I know even if we lose the next 2, these are mostly Bo's players trying to fit into Riley's system. So it's not all on him. But I do believe we can win. If nothing else this team has shown they can dig deep and get the job done. I'm really stoked to see what happens the next two weeks. Believe me I'd love to win them both and will be cheering on the team no matter what.

Exactly, you feel you know they're better than their performances, but that doesn't give you confidence, it makes no sense.

If that theory were true, they'd play to the level of the competition again this week, which makes your argument make no sense.

That should give you confidence, but whatever...

Then you're rooting against your team. Not sure how you can be a fan of a team and root against them?

If I don't think Nebraska will win or cover then I personally just stay away. I can't root against my team or root against my money.
Gotta disagree here. Whenever Bo would have one of his patented meltdowns (in the first half) I used to always bet the other team in the 2nd half spread. Made alot of green doing that, and most of the time I was pissed about it. It was simply easy money.

I wonder if Vegas knew about the injury on Wisconsin's ILB Jack Cichy before releasing the line. Cichy is lost for season, UW announced earlier this morning.

Fair enough, but who would you rooting for in the second half?

I get if people are okay with losing their money if it means a Nebraska win, but I guess personally I like my money and team too much to pit one against the other.

At -8 I'd take BIG RED with that line any day of the week. Wisky can't score which will keep the game close. We may not win but I have to believe that's a bet on Nebraska to cover.

Some people can bet with their heads, some can't. I hit the button on Nebraska plus 8. And if the line falls to 5 or lower I will probably put a unit on the badgers.

I can cheer for Nebraska to win the game while believing they won't win.

Yep!

What usually happens with me is that I will be waiting and waiting to bet...then no matter what I will take Nebraska.

I remember doing it in the Big12 title game against Oklahoma. Literally fell to the floor on one of the Martinez turnovers. Felt sick, winning a bet didn't fix the sickness of them leaving him in no matter how bad he was hurt and killing the team.

I wouldn't bet against Nebraska either, but I can tell you the rationale by some people.

A) No matter how they cheer, it's not going to change the outcome of the game
B) If they bet against Nebraska and Nebraska loses, while they are sad about their team losing, at least they have a consolation prize of cash to help them get over it

I hope the staff runs the ball right at them ( do we have healthy full back?) not only is Cinchy out but they have another LB who is not full speed and more importantly the NG was out last game not sure what his status is. If their 340 pound NG is not playing, his backup is a true freshman who is undersized. Our Oline is hobbled so pass protection will be very iffy against these guys - we need to run the ball right at them ( yes I know that did not work last week) but it is our best shot then playaction pass for some big plays

I rarely bet against Nebraska but I have bet the over quite a few times in the past which is kinda like betting against them....One of my biggest bets ever was against them in the Orange Bowl in 92 vs Fla St...that was the end of our run of crappy bowl results and FSU barely covered

Begging people to bet on Nebraska to cover 9

If that goes above 10 1/2 I will double my bet on Nebraska. Too many points now.

Vegas begging people to bet on a team is usually a bad sign for that team. If for some reason it grows, I would run as fast as you can (away from gambling.)

None of the computers I have seen had Wisconsin scoring more than 24.

The over under has stayed level at around 40 1/2

So for the final number to be near 40 and a 10 point spread, the final would need to be 25-15. With a O/U that low Vegas is counting on a lot of rushing, little passing and a short game with lower than normal possessions. For Wisconsin to score 3 TDs and a FG, they will have to score on about 40% of their possessions. If I remember correctly, they are currently scoring on about 28% Nebraska will score at least 2 TDs. The math says if it gets to 10 that's too much.

I can see Wisconsin winning by 5-7. If our OL was healthy and we had Carter back, I'd flip flop that in our favor. Hope we can somehow find a few explosive plays and squeak out a victory!

Unless the game goes in to overtime like I predict in the prediction thread.
