I had to take a look and well, Bama fans are pouring it on. Some of the stuff is really similar to the rumors that some Husker fans love to spread. Here is what is out there so far.

1. The Bama DC is chasing around sorority girls (where have we heard that before)
2. The HC is "too nice" and he needs to be "meaner" (remember, we wanted this when we got Bo, then we hated it so we got Riley, then we hated that)
3. The HC "only came to Bama for the money, he doesn't care about the school
4. The HC only hires "yes men"

One of my favs, because Bama fans are acting like they have not been buying players for years!:

We can’t compete with Ohio State & Texas (and others) when it comes to NIL. What helped us fill the gap was that we are Alabama and being the elite program of the last 20 years helped us attract players because the perception was you would at least be able to come here to win & get to the NFL. That perception goes away after a few bad seasons and we are screwed.

This is great. Thanks for posting. And yes you’re spot on and those husker posters know exactly who they are.

I ran across one on X yesterday from a poster who stayed at the team hotel and that players were having door dash McDonalds at 1:30am and friends hanging out in the rooms until 2-3am... basically insinuating that the team is undisciplined and such... typical crap like what we've all experienced on this forum for far too long...

Yes! Because we all know that under Saban they never had a kid do anything wrong! Hahaha

I am 100% positive that the Big Mac that their starting DT ate at 1am is the reason that FSU won that game.

As we all know they are no longer the only team buying players. They created such a stronghold on purchasing talent for 15 years or so that there were only a few teams that could compete in the buying of players at that level.

NOW that has changed and everyone is seeing the results. 5 years ago, go to Bama for 500K. Now...why go to Bama for 500K when you can go to ANY OTHER SCHOOL for 750K.

I want to keep updating it but it is hard to do because they are all over the place with their thoughts.

I LOVE that they are upset about their lack of money...like they were not buying players before.
I always liked Saban as a coach. Teams were smart disciplined etc.. but there is a reason he retired after NIL became a thing.

100%. He clearly gave it "one last go" in that last season but even though he talked about integrity, he also did not want to go back to clawing and scrapping for 9 wins.

His teams were smart and disciplined which is easy to do when you are that much better. Clearly he was still a great coach though.

Some of you guys are sorely undervaluing Saban. Sure they were paying players, but they also had everything else in place, including head coach, to create those dominant years. It's not an either/or thing.
Yes Nick Saban is a great coach. ( read my post above) all we are saying is they become less dominant when NIL became a thing.

It's no coincidence that the SEC hasn't won a national championship since NIL became a thing (a year or two afterwards, once teams had time to recruit and build). I know it's only been 2 years, but I think their reign of winning the national title most every year has come to an end.

I've said it so many times, being a college football power is cyclical, every powerful team has gone through it. The fans feel they are invincible and will never be beaten again but even the mighty fall and when they do the fans storm the gates demanding immediate change, sound familiar? Nebraska has been trying to get out of the wilderness for over 25 years now, let's see how long it will take Alabama. I think there are a few more power schools who are about to join Alabama on this unenviable journey that will send their fan bases into a whirlpool hard to swim out of. jmo

Of course he is but he also was a dud at MSU for the most part. It is not like he all of a sudden learned how to draw up a FB trap while at Bama.

He was dominate because the boosters helped him get the best players each year. Not because he "yelled" or was "a hardass".

And now it will be time to turn on the players (Cory MeKewon, remember how we attacked him for going out to a Halloween party):

I am not focusing on the approach of either the head coach or the coaching staff in this thread. My question centers around leaders that we are supposed to have on this team. We know who the team captains are, but who is going to step up as a leader, and try to right this ship, as a player? Who is going to chew someone’s rear end if they’re giving only half effort? It goes without saying that we don’t have any Rolando McClains on this team. While I do realize that one of the main problems is the beyond laid-back attitude and Charmin soft approach of the coaches, we also have to have some team leaders somewhere that are willing to get on to somebody. The answers that we seek, as for solutions, do not seem to be coming from any of the coaches anytime soon. So I have to look elsewhere.

I think people underestimate the importance of the HC over everything else. People get wrapped up in stuff like the local recruiting. NIL, the conference money, the facilities, and even the weather and the comparative hotness of the coeds, but the HC is what determines the success or failure of a program. Rhule seems to have us pointed in the right direction and going from 20 years of a program in disarray to building a strong roster with the mentality to win is a difficult task. Saban was a once in a generation coach and Alabama got to enjoy that success for a decade and a half. Now their program is coming back to Earth and it is a tough adjustment.

Yeah, those fans are not handling it well at all. Which is totally understandable. Neither did we!

Would be awesome if FSU only wins like, 2 more games (or less) rest of the year.

...hard for me to believe KB won't get that ship righted though. He's been to good for to long.

The 95 Huskers were hardly afraid to go to parties and get drunk. They just came to the field ready to destroy whoever we played. The Charmin-soft coaching style doesn't work. I fault that for some of Riley and Frost's downfalls. Some players don't like to be held accountable and told to sit. Sure they might transfer but you are better off without them. They won't amount to anything elsewhere without an attitude adjustment anyway.

It reminds me of Osborne seeing the writing on the wall with Texas and the Big 12. The difference is Nebraska has been down way longer than other Blue Bloods. Alabama may be taking a step back, but I don't feel they are going to be down for anywhere near as long as we have.

I think it depends what you mean by "soft"

I guess I don't think it is soft if a 21 year old dude wants to eat some pizza at midnight.

Osborne retired when he did for 2 reasons only. His Dr told him to and he promised Solich the job in order for him to turn down Wisconsins OC job. Solich was probably one of the best RB coaches ever and Tom didn't want to lose that.

Except Ohio State. Their only down turn in the past 4 decades lasted like 1 season. Bunch of a-holes.

EVERY school will experience the down turn and I'm not saying it will be 25 years but it will be a down turn you can't stay on top forever to think you will be on top forever with no bumps in the road is simply naive thinking. No slam on you it's just a fact and a sad fact that many Nebraska fans weren't ready for after Dr. Tom Osborne retired and the chicken coop burned down.

Been going to games since '99, and this is what I looked like I'm sure at times. The downfall of Alabama and that of Nebraska has different circumstances, but one commonality is the utter shock of coming down from the mountain after a sustained period of otherworldly success.

I don't really care about anything Alabama. We have enough problems of our own in our own program.

That being said, what happened to all the money the Bama players were allegedly being paid before NIL? Can't that same money be reallocated legally to NIL and accomplish the same goals?

Yes but now other schools can/will pay more, so now they lose a starter here and there to other schools and it starts to take a toll.

We are about to be left behind Nebraska style once again unless they find answers FAST. I can't believe this is really happening. Hell I knew we would take a step back after CNS but never imagined a full on collapse.

And that’s the worst part of it. Going 9-4 or 10-3 seems like a failure and unexceptable. So you fire coaches but instead of getting better,
You just get worse. Fans become to critical, and players lose confidence. This will be Bama’s 2002.
