CBS is petioning the SEC to allow them to have a night telecast for Bama vs LSU. If they do get permission to play at night, there is a chance that game will conflict with our UT Martin game.

So.............................

Pay for 8 season tix, and love my team enough that I will go watch the Dawgs play. I'll just DVR the Bama/LSU game.

You don't give a **** about the LSU/Bama game? Remind me not to ever talk football with you.

Not everyone has a "2nd favorite SEC team". I'm with him, 17 Bama and LSU. I graduated from MSU, pay through the nose for BC and seats, and have paid for the asphalt in my parking spot several times over. So I'm going to the game to give a little more to the university I love. What do we get if Bama wins? If LSU wins?

.

It amazes me that some people think they have to get some kinda hard *** Sixpack mentality and burn your season tickets if it looks we won't at least make the peach bowl.

Careful everyone. If you don't bow down to LSU and Bama and go to an MSU game, you will now be deemed in the very bottom of the 90%.

edit: and to just think we make fun of the other hayseeds in this state that cheer for Bama but can't tell you how to get from Columbus to Tuscaloosa.

There is major interest in this game. But I wasn't attending the State game so I guess I don't actually fall in with the question.

...since I don't have an allegiance to any of the competitors. If you're not interested in the LSU vs. Bama game, I just don't understand how you can claim to be a college football fan. I totally understand choosing to attend our game (which I will probably do as well), but I just don't understand how anyone can say "17 em, I ain't watching that ****." This is #1 vs. #2!<div>
</div><div>Sometimes I wonder if you people are way to results oriented. What do we get if either team wins? Who gives a ****?! We got to watch two powerhouses kicking the **** out of each other and likely determining one half of the National Championship game in the process!</div>

I get it too. But the first so called MSU fan that says "you are gonna miss the LSU - Bama game to go watch us?!?!?!" will be so close to a cussing I will probably have to bite my bottom lip off to keep me from it.

That isn't what I mean and you know it. And I for sure didn't say I didn't care about the outcome. If we played at 3 and LSU - Bama played at 7, My *** would be glued to the set to watch the game. But you think Bryant-Denny would be a quarter empty if they were playing Tulane and LSU and and highly ranked Ark was playing at the same time?

and waiting to pounce on a mistake that the other one makes. I'd take my chances on the possibility of rolling UTM big time. Besides, I really don't do the vicarious thing with any other team in the SEC...frankly I could give a ****, to quote Lou Saban, or whatever his name is.

You became infuriated when I questioned/berated another poster who said that he didn't give a **** about the Bama vs. LSU game. Do you care or don't you?<div>
</div><div>In your first post, you basically said you don't care because we gain nothing either way. How is this different from not caring about, say, the national championship game last year? Me thinks you are just angry in general and didn't really read my first post, which did not discount our homecoming game. Now, you'll find a way to back out of your stance.</div>

If they kickoff at the same time MSU plays... then 17em. I'll be at MSU in my seat. I'll watch the ribbon boards for the score and watch the highlights or DVR recording later. I have no allegiance to Bama or LSU and either of them winning is no reason for me to miss the MSU game while other MSU fans jump in the same boat as the sidewalk alum in this state and stay away from Starkville to watch a game that has no outcome for MSU.<div>
</div><div>Like I said. would Bryant Denny or Death Valley be 1/4 empty if they were playing Tulane or TN Martin if two other highly ranked SEC teams were in the same timeslot? Hell no they wouldn't. </div>

I will be (almost certainly) attending the game and I also think anyone who doesn't care about the Bama/LSU game doesn't care about college football.

<div>You're arguing with someone, but it isn't me. Your anger is misplaced and I don't think you read my first post.</div>

That especially goes to those of you that are season ticket holders or have tickets and had the plans to go. Congratulations. You 17ing *** jockeys are part of the reason why MSU has what is considered a sub-par football program in the SEC. Fan support is a huge part of success with any football program, just look at the traditional powerhouses and current winning programs. I'd rather you jerk offs stay at home and play with your dogs dick instead of coming to anymore games.

If State is playing then I could give a rat's *** if the Packers and Saints are playing across the street. Screw Bama and screw LSU.

DVR it and get your asses to Davis Wade for homecoming.

Seriously? Do you turn off your TV after the Egg Bowl after most seasons? What a 17ing dumbass statement. Nobody said they were leaving Davis Wade to catch the 2nd half live from Bryant Denny, but the LSU Bama game will be better than the national championship game this year. Just that they wished the game were at 2:30 instead of 6 so we could watch before our game. Any person who follows college football should want to be able to watch that game. It would be great to watch that game prior to our game because it will be a elimination game for BCS Championship. But I'm not missing our game for it, unless I can find a free ticket.**

Guess all MSU fans shouldn't watch the NCAA tourney, along with C34, according to your brilliant logic. I'm calling directv Monday to cancel my subscription because I'm a terrible fan for being intrigued by other great college match-ups.

To answer your question...I don't have tickets (I have a newborn) so I, like a true State fan who can't go will order the game on pay per view or watch on whatever channel it's on and DVR the Bama LSU game...I think what the previous poster is trying to say is as a State fan, to him, no other game comes before State's....yes, the Bama LSU game will be great to watch but these circumstances are exactly why DVRs were created. Think there is a lot of over reacting going on in this thread, but maybe that's just me. Didn't seem that hard to understand.

is really not that big of a fan. Unless we are like 1-6. But we have plenty to play for this year.<div>
</div><div>I can't make the game because I live so far away, but you can be sure that my TV will have MSU/UTM primarily on it. Bama/LSU during commercials.</div>

Figure I can either easily find the Bama/LSU game on TV or get Computer Syphilis going to the seedy corners of the internet trying to find a streaming link.

As in:

3) Or will you be in the French Quarter Saturday Night before going to the Saints-Tampa Bay game on Sunday?

If so, then I am picking 3 because that is where I will be. And I love my Bulldogs, but I doubt I find a TV in the QUARTER that has the MSU-UTM game on it.***

It's the one thing that isn't DVR proof. You have to basically cut yourself off from the world for a period of time to watch and fully enjoy the game, and if you are in a crowd of a lot of people there is no chance your not catching a spoiler.

The results of that poll make me want to freaking puke.

If the shoe was on the other foot and Bama was 4-4 with homecoming up next, how many of them would stay home to watch a 8-0 MSU play and 8-0 LSU?

I am not saying it is wrong to care about what is happening in college football outside of MSU but if you can't decide whether to go to an MSU game that you already have tickets to or watch another game on TV then you need to turn in your cowbell............or better yet just shove it up your Croomhole.

And the same to whoever said "guess I shouldn't watch the Superbowl, Masters, or World Series since I don't care about the competitors".

You can, and should, watch all of those things, because they're not taking place at the same time as a State home game.

This means he does not care about the game. He didn't say, I'm not going to watch the LSU/Bama game because it is at the same time, he said that he doesn't like either team so he doesn't care about the game and will not watch it.<div>
</div><div>This isequivalent to not watching the National Championship because you have no alliance in the teams playing.
