Was the difference last year that DJ would close out harder on the 3's after a double? It seems like we play the same basic defense, which doubles hard on the driver, but then the kickout is wide open a LOT. I'm just wondering if DJ having more length, or maybe just reacting quicker because he was more dedicated to playing defense, than say Kugel or Harris, leads to us leaving way more open looks this year.

It may be just as simple as personnel, and we are trading offense for defense at that point.

We have one, maybe two more chances to give our home crowd a big win against a highly ranked team instead of simply playing them close (Florida and possibly A&M). It would be nice to get one of those just to reward the fanbase. It's tiring to constantly be coming up short in these.

I think we arent as good defensively... but i also think we are playing at a faster pace this season. I dont necessarly think our defense is THAT much worse than it was.. its just we are getting more up and down more thus creating more possessions in a game.. and due to this a lot of those possessions arent against a set D.

We matchup well with TexasAM. Similar styles and we tend to play well against our style. Florida has 3 very good guards and one of them may be the best guard in the league. Not saying we cant beat em, but thats been the type team that has given us trouble.
