There's a lot in that quote. Can't play Patty cake in practice and expect to be physical on GameDay.

Back to the OP. I didn't take Banker's comment to mean they must have real hard practices (much harder than ours). I took it to mean when they practice against each other both lines are equally matched and physical, it is a bloodbath. I didn't see anything wrong with the comment.
I read it as him trying to send a message to his team. I doubt the coaches are trying to teach them to be soft, maybe they have been trying to get their guys to step up the intensity and the message wasn't getting through.

Let me ask you this... If Riley and Company had Bama players at every position, do you think this year ends differently?

We compare coaches to each other all the time... But if the coaches don't have the players in place, it should shock no one that there are struggles from time to time. Give Riley Bama's players, or Ohio State's players, and I am almost positive this year ends differently...

I would like to think so and since he is our coach, I would certainly hope so.

Now, the million dollar question is; what would happen if you gave Cosgrove Bama's players?

I honestly think Cosgrove would fail them. Coaches exist for a reason, bad ones are bad regardless of their roster. I doubt he would be horrible with them but I cant see him fielding all world defenses.

And whose fault is that? He's had 2 recruiting cycles to fix it. No juco, no depth.
We lost one starter to injury and another to a late unexpected transfer. The question becomes should we have played a guy or two that we redshirted or try to build for the future by saving a year for them. IF we had stayed completely healthy it would have been a moot point but EVERY single guy on our O line has played hurt multiple games. Hindsight maybe we should have played Farniok and Wilson. Maybe. Redshirting them is going to pay dividends down the road IMO>
