Cause her son isn't 1/10th the coach her husband was. He'll be back at a mid-major (or I-AA) in 2013.

if he's half-*** a coach and has the support of the boosters/fanbase... yada, yada...

they almost always get rockstar talent.

instead of just an opinion. I don't get the Dooley hate. He was successful at LSU. He had mild success at literally one of the worst places to recruit to in the entire country. He's put a respectable team on the field in two games at Tennessee. Why do you hate him? Because he's a coach's son and probably had an easier route "up" in the coaching business?

It's not like the rest of the WAC is a picnic to recruit to either. I could very well be proven wrong, but I just never saw anything in him when he was at LA Tech that impressed me at all. And the worst home loss in UT history didn't exactly impress me either.

....and won. That program was a disaster when he got there, and 3 years is not near enough time to turn something like that completely around. The way I see it Saban had him at LSU, took him to Miami, and tried to take him to Alabama before Dooley decided to take the La tech job. I feel pretty confident Saban isnt dragging dead weight around with him everywhere he goes

He led La Tech to only their 3rd bowl appearance in the last 30 years
He beat an SEC team- and while Crooms was awful, Crooms did beat the great Nick Saban once

He is replacing almost the entire OL and DL this year at Tennessee- having no starting lineman back would be tough for any team to overcome
They have 18 true freshman mixed in having to play this season

He took over a trainwreck- he just has to get the time to fix it

but that doesn't mean I think he's a bad coach. Louisiana Tech was alot better last year than the record indicated. And you can't really go by the game vs. Oregon the other night. Oregon's top 5, and the UT program wasn't exactly perfect when he got it. They aren't as down in the dumps as the talking heads would have you believe, but the point remains nonetheless.

I don't know where people get this stuff about Tech never going to a bowl. They have only been 1-A for 20 years and have been to three bowl games. They actually won the WAC with Bicknell 5 years before Dooley was hired. He didn't do anything at Tech that Joe Raymond Peace, Gary Crowton, and Jack Bicknell hadn't already done.
