Barclays Premier League - Finals - Spoilers

Finals:

Sunderland 2, West Bromwich Albion 0
Manchester City 4, Aston Villa 0

Sunderland will play in the BPL for the 2014-15 season.
Norwich City need to erase an 17-goal differential and beat Arsenal at home and hope the Baggies lose to Stoke at home to stay in the BPL.

Man City leads the BPL by 2 points over Liverpool and needs to match Liverpool's result to win the BPL.
Liverpool host Newcastle and Manchester City host West Ham.

A Man United win and Spurs loss could put Man U in the Europa league. As a Spurs fan, I've got mixed feelings whether that would be a bad thing.

It's amazing what Sunderland has done in the last month. Poyett (and Pulis) has been Managers of the Year after Psycho di Canio ran them in the ground to start the year.

And, PhillyDawg, I think you're correct about Europa League. Those Thursday night games at the Arctic Circle against some Norwegian team can be more trouble than they're worth. No disrespect, but I kinda want to see Man U in it. I'd love to watch Robin Van Persie forced to play in some of those places next year since he left Arsenal for "bigger things"... Yes, I know. He won a trophy last year. But, the schadenfreude would be rich watching him slug through some Thursday nights in Ukraine in January before a weekend match in England.

One slight correction. The only way Liverpool can overtake Man City is if they win and Man City loses. And yes, what both Sunderland and Crystal Palace have done is incredible. They were the last 2 in the table at Christmas and now they're 11th and 14th. Also agree about Europa League. Don't know why any team would want to subject themselves to that.

Sunderland lost a game 5-1 to Spurs late in the season that could have been 8-1. I watched that game and can't believe that its the same team playing in the last few. That was the game after which Poyet said that they'd need a miracle. Amazing turn around. He deserves a ton of credit.
