That Gene Chizick was the 3rd best coach in the SEC behind Saban and Miles. This guy is such a homer/clown it's unreal. He has established himself as Auburn's yancy poter in my mind

Yeah, I've heard the arguments. He's got a ring. Yep. It was handed to him by Cam Newton and Gus Malzahn. Look at what he has done without an elite QB in the fold. He's mediocre at best. Undefeated with the best player college football has ever seen sandwiched between to very blah seasons.

The guy writes for Bleacher Report. That's all I need to know.

About SEC coaches on the 'hot seat' which listed Mullen as one of the three showed 'exactly' where he is coming from.

You're kidding yourself if you think otherwise. Yes, Malzahn and Cam won the NC, and he likely won't see that level of success again, but a stable of above average coaches will be able to take the talent Auburn has and win 8+ every year.

Even though I don't think he's the sharpest tool in the shed, how can you not rank him high? He consistantly brings in top 10 classes and won a NC in his 2nd season. That's all that matters in the end. Just win.

Of losing 4 division games next year. No other top 5 coach in the SEC does (sorry guys Mullen's not on my list). If you take Cam from his body of work, its not pretty. His ISU record shows he no coaching genius. He will have more success at Auburn b/c they care so much more. If you had your pick of any coach in the SEC, where would he be? He's in my bottom 3

Cam was the best college football player I've ever seen. He was literally worth at least 4 wins for them that season.

Gene Chizik will be "fired" @ Auburn LONG before Dan Mullen is "fired" @ MSU.

His "logic" is that State wins 6-7 this year, and we begin to get restless with that number. That part is probably true, but his wording has been abhorable, because "restless" /= "hot seat". We naturally want to take another step forward, but as a collective fanbase we are the most fearful of any in the sec of "taking a step back." Dan Mullen will never feel the heat as long as he makes bowl games consistently and we stay ahead of OM. At least not until the program stagnates altogether. Took us 14 years to get sick of Stansbury, while having similar success, and meeting the aforementioned criteria. It'll take more than 4-5 years for us to get sick of Dan Mullen.

How are the Auburn faithful going to feel when they win 7-8 again this year, while Bama is competing for another national title, after Saban skull drags them for the 3rd time in Chiz's four seasons? Suddenly, he's winning fewer games than Tuberville, while not having the domination of the in-state rival that Tubs had to fall back on. That's right, it will be ugly. Chizik has 2 years to be in the bcs picture before auburn sends him packing.

Now, which team has a coach on the hot seat?

That is all. Haven't taken the dude seriously since his regular drivel on CFN. I see nothing's changed.

But top 10 recruiting classes and a National Championship tend to make the HC look pretty good. I think we all know where his record is headed now that Cam and Malzahn are gone, but for now he's still a hero at Auburn. Hell, look at Les Miles. What would his record be if he had been coaching at MSU or Mississippi the last 5 years? He's an idiot but that luckySOB signs a top 3 recruiting class every year.

Was waaaay better than Chizick at ISU. Not even close. Chizick is a pawn, a figure head that will let the Auburn machine do as they please w/out interference. Nothing more

He had a better record at Oklahoma St. than Jimmy Johnson did, and Jimmy Johnson had Barry Sanders to carry the ball.

The gap between him and Saban is larger than the Grand Canyon. Now, I damn sure won't question his winning ability. All he does is win. I would take Miles in a heartbeat but then you would have to pray that he could recruit at MSU.

And the gap between Miles and Saban is very small, whichever one you want to rank #1.

Saban, Petrino, Miles, Spurrier definitely

Below him: Phillips, Dooley

He's somewhere in the middle of the pack...at best

Other than the fact he kicks our *** every year, I love having him in the conference. Probably the most entertaining football coach the SEC has ever had.

with no Cam and no Malzahn he will have a brutal raping in the west this year...
Wingnut told Lowder to stay the 17 away from his program which was the death of t'ville in Auburn. Theyreplaced him with a toothless leather jacket wearingtool totallyincapable of thought and willing to let Lawder and Dye run the football program.
Add Trooper Taylor to the mix and you quite possibly have the most unethical trash in college football.
