Totally sucks. Dave said Pardon My Take and some of the live stuff will move over to YouTube in the interim. Podcasts will continue.

Yep, you can't get any more "freedom" to say what you want than Sirius. YouTube is just Google in disguise

Not freedom in regards to language and opinions. Freedom in regards to owning/sharing content.

I mainly listen to podcasts anyway. As long as they do not go anywhere I am good

No clue how the financials of YouTube work but several people I watch have let it be known that their accounts have been “demonitized” by YouTube for random reasons before and they have no control of it. These were apolitical channels well before all the 2020 stuff.

Not necessarily related, but YouTube has squeezed content producers before. If you remember when the crazy lady that shot up a google building, it was in part response to having her youtube channel demonetized. Youtube basically decided that all these channels making a little bit of money didn't really have anywhere else to go and Youtube was providing them more value than they were providing youtube, so they just deomonetized all channels below a certain threshold that was reasonably low. Or maybe any individual video had to hit a certain threshold of like 10,000 views before any ad revenue was shared with the content producer. Whatever it was, she apparently went from making a very little bit of money to nothing and she cracked.

Dave said on his podcast that basically Sirius asks for too much time and not enough money. They have almost the same ratings as Stern but don't want to offer even close to what they offered Stern. And they want Dave to have his own show 4 days a week and with how much he is doing right now and travelling, it wouldn't make sense for how little they are offering. I wouldn't be shocked if they went to Spotify. They have been buying up a lot of the podcast/radio content and for the most part leaves the creators alone.

I'm surprised they don't do an "over the top" live stream (maybe 12 hours/day?) similar to what Clay Travis is planning. They would kill it and keep more money.

My understanding is they will do YouTube Live feeds for their radio shows while they figure out a better landing spot.
