Folks, all we have to do is look at the members of the committee. I was
shocked to find out that the 2010 ten member NCAA Selection Committee
was made up of a hockey player, a former Walt Disney employee, a man
who made the Sporting News "Power 100" list (who didn't play collegiate
anything mind you), a football player, a couple of baseball players,
and two former basketball players. One of which is a woman. Oh, and I
almost forgot that one member of the committee was also on the BCS
ESPN Television Committee.

Are you frieking kidding me?

Damn. Just damn. WTF???

of basketball who to select than a committee of Bobby Knights and Bob Huggins.

If one was so inclined to want to manipulate the selection process.

how he states "two former basketball players. One of which is a woman." It's almost sounds like that former basketball player has a disease. funny. i could care less how he said it though.

/shirley someone in the land of the offended will yell at him for this
//women watch basketball too Bart!!!

There are free online resources that can help with that.
I'm just sayin.
And we can only imagine what the reaction would be if the lone broad on the committee hadn't played basketball.
(Just for the record, I completely agree with his basic premise: these people suck horribly at what they've been chosen to do, and probably at life in general.)

I would love to read a transcript of the discussions. All we have are sound bytes. When I have chaired hiring committees at my job,
all our notes can be subpoenaed if there is a suit.

I want to see how serious we actually were in the mix following the loss.

and from Slive's comments after the Florida game that the at-large selections were done BEFORE the conference tourneys and that changes were only made when they had to be based on unexpected conference tourney winners. Without winning the conference tourney our fate was sealed on Senior Day with our horrible performance against TN. Stinks but I guess the committee found it too taxing to reevaluate anyone based on how they played in their conference tourney.
