Baseball Team Leadership

So I flew down for SBW and crashed at a friend of a friend's apartment. The girl whose apartment I stayed out told us that on Saturday night, her friend was trying her best to hook up with Ryan Powers, but he was so freaking drunk he couldn't have taken business even if they got that far. Whiskey dick Powers then proceeded to put on a 0-2 with 2 K performance (the only guy with an official AB that didn't get a hit Sunday) to go along with his 2 errors in the field before being benched the next day.

I have no problem with a college guy getting blasted like that when its not in season, but what the hell is he doing getting that drunk in the middle of a SEC weekend series? Do we not have some leaders on this team that would kick his *** for doing something like that? That actually explains a lot about the people Polk II brought to Starkville.

but I knew a lot of the guys on the baseball team from '95 to '99 and got hammered with them the night before games many times. When you have good players it doesnt matter. When you dont, it's a good excuse to get mad at them. Scott Polk jumping in the police cruiser at Classix and locking the doors and playing with the sirens an P.A. Now that is good times.

Wasn't there a no-alcohol policy in place for the baseball team? Not that I realisticly expect any of them to adhere to it.

If they can play well hungover, then I will buy the next round. If you play like crap on a 20-20 last place team, then I will ridicule them for being a limp noodle on and off the field.
