Baseball vs. Michigan State tonight

I think Seth Heck is going to end up being our SS- he's impressed me every game. I think Cody Brown's a great pick, too- I hope he gets to start a lot- I like Demarcus, and he's improved, but I just really like Cody.

Woody seems more confident, too. Dicey first inning, but the way he finished it out was impressive. Hopefully he continues to work on that in this one.

Last time to talk to myself- what I wish would happen is to have Cody Brown in left, CT in center, Henderson in right. Robson just doesn't do much IMO- I think he's funny, probably a good teammate, but he's not a starter.

I like Detz, Heck, Pirtle, Rea.

I think Cody Walker is beginning to cement himself as the starter. Between him and Collins, but he's the best IMO.

He just has absolutely no command right now. I don't know if it's something he can get back, but I certainly hope so.

And just like that, Woody gets yanked early again. Incredible catch by CT to save a run, though. I didn't think he had a prayer of catching it

Woody's going to be a work in progress for a bit. I think he did some good things and had some success tonight. I think Butch probably pulled him before something bad could happen and get in the way of that confidence- the 2 RBI hit is something that's just going to happen. Wasn't hit hard, just hit in the right place.

2-1 Michigan State bottom of the 3rd. Plenty of time.

This is the 6th game that I've watched us play this season, and I feel safe in saying that our team hits more fly ball outs than any other team in the 17ing country

And this is against Big 10 pitching. Can you imagine what SEC pitching will do to this lineup? I just hope we get hot in the postseason again.

Today was all about relief pitching

Woody had another bad game, and their ace did more than enough to beat us, but Ross is the man and kept us in the game until MichSt made just enough mistakes.

We gotta settle down and be more patient. We were beating ourselves at the plate with ******** pitches way out of the zone. Great tip by garner, though. Ump completely blew the call at the plate, but we stepped up and made sure it didn't matter.

Exactly. That was the best pitcher in the B1G that we saw tonight. Probably a fairly early round guy...

Yep. Much like last year. I had hoped Woodruff's issues had been corrected, but it doesn't look good. He just can't throw strikes with consistency. The positive is that it's early yet so if it's mental, there's plenty of time to get it on track.
