Bash me if you want, but I am taking a moral victory tonight!

I seems as though Murphy's law is always in full effect with us, but I thought we found some things tonight. First off, I convinced we have played 3 or the 4 best teams in the country the last 3 weeks. Tough go.

Number 1. Our offensive line played great. I know they gave up sacks at the wrong time, but overall they gave us a chance against what may be the best d-line in college football.

2. Russell played great with the exception of the pic 6. Just trying to make a play

3. NICK GRIFFEN IS OUR BEST BACK. He is starting to look like we expected. We should stick with him.

D-line just has to get better or we have to be more exotic in our blitzes.

Overall, we got better this week. If we play like this, we will win our last 2.

I'm with you.

Maybe it's the poor showing the last couple of weeks but I was pleased with our effort. Only thing I hated was that at no point did we ever try to blitz or get pressure on mettenburger.

Agreed on all this...

Another thing...

I thought Autry played well tonight at times. Definitely made a couple bigtime plays. Also thought Dee Arrington played excellent for the most part. I honestly think he's better than Whitley right now...

You really think Nick Griffin is our best back?...

...not having Perkins in the game cost us dearly. Perkins is our only threat to break into the secondary for a 65 yd. TD. Perkins has the stats, wins & intangibles. Yet Nick Griffin is our best back? Unbelievable.

I don't think Perkins would have done much, if any better. Griffin is definitely better up the middle and he sheds contact better..as he should, he's much bigger! Perkins is better on the perimeter. Griffin just needs a lot more experience, this was his first full game. Not sure why he hasn't played a lot more!! He can obviously help us!

Finally, someone who sees what I see...Perkins is not an every down back...

We need to start Griffin and work in Perkins, Robinson, Milton. Milton screwed up last night but damn Russell should have called a timeout instead of rushing to get the play off. That play should have went to Robinson or Griffin anyway.

This is what we need at running back. We need a big running back that run between the tackles (maybe Griffin is it) and then this will open the door for a Perkins to attack the perimeter. We need a big fast physical WR that can stretch the field and can go up and get the ball. That would fix our offense. Now defense...

Came out ready to play and played hard all night. State is fighting an uphill battle with its front 7. Its been that way all year.

Against top level SEC teams, our running game has little chance of breaking long runs. Hell, LSU couldn't even break them against us. In top level SEC games, it is about moving the chains and falling forward on upon contact. LSU's running backs didn't break any runs last night, but they consistently fell forward to finish runs, and continuously kept their offense in manageable 3rd downs and opened up the play action.

Against, Sun Belt teams, Perkins may be the better back, but against LSU, Bama, aTm, he just needs to be a 3rd down back and let Griffin get 3 to 4 yards a run. That would bring balance and allow the play action to open up bigger plays in the passing game.

D-line is killing us. No pass rush and I don't think we're capable of blitzing. We give the opposition's QB way too much time to throw. Been that way all year, even against the Sunbelt teams.

Very true statement, Vic Ballard was as good at breaking long runs as any RB we've had in quite a while but even he couldn't do it against the ALs and LSUs of the SEC.

Yes, I know. It's pretty simple logic based on the two games before and watching the rest of the sec. You need that big bruising back to run between the tackles. Perkins would be a great change of pace, along with his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. What else is there to know
