I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. The fact that Sean Jones starts and plays 35+ minutes a game for us just shows how schitty this team is. He should be a role player off the bench getting 10-15 minutes per game. Not a major contributor. This team has a very real chance to lose 20 games this season.
My favorite sport and we are scary bad, Disappointing to say the least. Honestly don't know if we'll win a conference game. Who's worse?

Funny but SJJ has been one of may favorite players over the past 3 years but to you point, I guess it was more as a role player than starter. He's looked awful this year.

We definitely seem to self-nuke our athletic teams more so than any other school out there. Will be a total rebuild next year. Probably an entirely new roster. But don’t have much hope in getting any high level transfers. Players talk and they know Jans isn’t an offensive minded coach and hard to get along with.

I disagree. Davis-Fleming, king Grace, and Bartlett if he ever gets in shape is a good nucleus to build around as well as Hubbard. Jans is a good coach and is well respected in the industry. He more than deserves a rebuild year especially considering his 22/23 team made the tournament as the worst 3 point % in the country

2 of those 3 won’t be here next year. And I wouldn’t rule out all 3. And top tier coaches, which Jan’s’ pay puts him in the top 30 of all college basketball, don’t have seasons where they let the bottom fall out, like we are going through.

Yes they do. Cal missed the tournament in 2013 and 2021. Billy Donovan missed in 2007 and 08 after winning back to back. It happens

Sorry I missed this one. Sounds like a tough loss.

Anybody got attendance numbers?

That was gambling 100 percent
I don't want to suspect that, and wouldn't if it was just the inbound pass, because I can see him tossing it to where Epps was at that moment, with Epps continuing away.

But 2 things really bother me:
  1. The pass was way too weak to explain it away with the above
  2. Why did he not try to defend the shot after the T/O? He just stood there and let the SF guy go in clean

I like Jans and still believe in the guy. He deserves the opportunity to fix it over the next year or two. The track record until this year has been strong for us, compared to our historical track record.

This team’s roster situation is one of the greater team building whiffs I can ever recall us having. Especially with a coach who had done a good job for 3 years until now.

I feel bad for Hubbard and Epps because are both talented players that most any team would love to have…. And they are surrounded by an absolutely terrible supporting cast.

What clever guys do is start a hustle with friends with their NIL money and try to parlay it into a few million in Vegas.

Because that's what smart guys do.

Jones 3pt shooting: 7 for 32 on the season (21.9%)

That includes one 3 for 4 game. Outside of that he’s 4 for 28. Under 15%.

Tell me he’s not throwing games.

....and what is a good season in baseball this year? 3rd seed in the fsu regional, 2 and q? 2nd in the Tulane regional, but 1-2? Host but lose out to campbell?

Everyone wants baseball to start, but i have to believe the instantaneous hopes are going to be insane.

He's not throwing games. He's just a poor shooter who in his senior year is suddenly looked at as an offensive option when he's not one. The fact that he is starting for us is one of the more damning statements about our recruiting under Jans.
