Nothing definitive has been said about Sword unfortunately.

"He's become stagnant at this point in time as far as his progression," Ray said after MSU's win over Mississippi Valley State. "Right now he's not cleared to play and really don't know for sure when he'll get cleared."

Looks like I got this sewed up if you aren't eligible DS.

My second prediction is an empty hump bc it seems no one gives a crap about basketball

I'll have to commend MSU on keeping these surgeries/injuries quiet leading up to the season. I would have passed on season tix again had I known this. Also, it was laughable to hear that Sword would be ready so soon after back surgery. If Ray expected that, then he's a clown.

I think that Sword had bulging discs. I do not know what surgery he had done, but I am guessing it was the microdiscectomy, which removes a piece of the disc to release the pressure against the nerve. You don't come back easily from those. Ask Chaz Ramsey and Jarod Parks. You can come back easily to a normal day-to-day life but playing college athletics is a different story. I thought this earlier when I saw his surgery but did not mention it due to not knowing the whole story. If it is as I suspect, he won't be back this year.
