I really have not seem any improvement in this basketball team from year 1 to 2 under Ray. I know some will point to more wins but our schedule was much easier this year than last. The last month or so this team has been awful. Hopefully we can pull one out today and get a couple more wins before this season is over.

I'm not happy with the way this season has turned out but I can honestly say I have seen some improvement

Of course, to this point the basketball "improvement" far exceeds the over-rated baseball "expectations". **

We have cut down the turnovers quite a bit. We score more points per game with other stats being about the same, so that probably accounts for it. Our defensive statistics are about the same to slightly worse. The difference in us and our opponents statistically isn't quite as bad in conference play.

We rank 2nd in the SEC in "creating" turnovers...That means we generate more "potential" (note I said potential) offensive possessions and shot opportunities than 12 other programs in the conference on average. That also suggests athletic guys on the court. But it is apparent that we practice both shooting and free throw shooting on backboards that have no goals on them, because we sure do find it hard to make a round ball go a larger round rim.

Suckage is a quantifiable term in athletics.

I saw some improvement in the pre-conference and the first 6 games of the SEC season, but the last month has been about as bad as it could possibly be. I like Rick Ray and I want him to succeed, but there's no excuse for what we've seen the last month.

I pretty much agree with this 100%. I want Ray to succeed because I enjoy State basketball when it's good. However, what we have seen lately has been as bad as I have ever seen.
