I say keep the roster full and trim the fat if someone like Wiltjer wants in. I think Ray has learned after last year to fill his bench. It'll be interesting to see what happens with the 2 football signees rumored to be playing basketball too. Ray has about 15-16 players if true with a couple of them not on basketball scholarship.

Can't wait to see our defense with a full roster. Really think we're gonna get after people

Bc of all the transfers, I'd like to always keep a scholarship open.

This article on ESPN from the weekend - http://insider.espn.go.com/blog/jeff-goodman/post/_/id/8/top-impact-transfers-remaining-targets

is pretty extensive on how many transfers there are out there, 450 transfers this offseason, I'm not sure how we with our low numbers situation didn't bring in one ...

I'm not a huge fan of patchwork because of the end of the Sherrill years BUT ... there is also Shane Power and Lawrence Roberts patching that turned out really well

are we on Pollard yet?

saw today on ESPN that he left Bama. said he wasn't interested in basketball currently but I'd be suprised if he didn't play again down the line. too much talent and potential money not to.

I don't want him, if he's convicted. Who wants a criminal on their team, regardless of how good he is?

I agree with you and to be honest with you, he never showed anything but potential anyway. Just like in perfect Bama basketball fashion!

I hope we are talking to him. He has 3 years left to play, and no reason why he can't come to STATE...
I expect him to go to EMCC or another JUCO this year. Hopefully his Momma will be locked up until he is out of college.

You can add the guy from Huntsville (can't remember his name at the moment) to that list. I think he just transferred also. Anyway, he never did very much that I could see, or at least not as much as he was hyped up to be capable of.

Don't sell Lacey short, last I heard he was visiting Pitt and some other schools up there. He is really a solid player. Of course he will have to sit as well.

Yeah, it's Lacey. I was just commenting on how he did for the Tide ... didn't seem like much. But, of course, I don't keep up with Alabama basketball very much. Didn't he also want to go to Duke? Does he have the academics for them? I have no idea.

Nobody should have expected big things immediately from Pollard. He was a raw player whose rating was based on athletic ability and potential. He was always a guy who would require a year to develop and probably would only really come into his own in his junior year.
