Just so we're clear,I'm not really taking up for him, because I don't know how this guy pimping his site hasn't been banned yet - but, technically he's right. We're #15 in the AP poll.

I normally use hickory, and I've used apple a few times. Wondering what kind of success folks have had with other types of wood for smoking? Also, what are your thoughts on the Big Green Egg????//

I only use the cherry pellets. They seem to smoke better, especially when you put them on a tray.<div>

I make it too sweet with the pickle relish. <div>
</div><div>Now you wanna go out in left field while cooking a steak? Try cooking a steak over charcoal and then baste it with the juice from Spiced apple rings often right before you take it off. Also quickly grill a couple of the rings and then top the steak with it. If you like a sweet fruity glaze on a steak, you will love that.</div><div>
</div><div>Speaking of... who has the best cuts of steak from the grocery store in the area?</div>

What are we talking about smoking here?

I'm a hickory guy when it comes to pork or beef. Sometimes pecan.

When it comes to cheese its apple or cherry every time.

Does this guy have pictures of DS with Jerry Sandusky or something? I don't understand why he is allowed to continue to hawk his horrid site. I read two sentences in this article and found two grammatical mistakes.

is amazing. Small cooking space, but that's the tradeoff for quality and compactness. Once you get the air/vent setup right you will be amazed how long you can cook with very little fuel. Takes some work though, I'm still not great at it but I have a friend that cooks on his every weekend and he can rock it.

Smoky Velveeta?

Oh sorry - my bad - 10,000 apologies.

Yes, the green egg is a good machine - excellent choice for cooking outside.

I like the flavor it gives because everything goes up past the meat.

You got'a admit that it would make velveeta pretty smoky though.

becasue we have a lot of it in our yard, but pecan is nice. I knew a guy who cut down a peach tree to use for smoking stuff. It was good aslong as it lasted. I wouldn't trust him in my orchard if I had one.

Yeah, I capitalizeit whenever I talk about it. Considering the fact I'm not that good of a cook and I was too lazy to make something mediocre anyway.<div>
</div><div>I always liked the mayo based potato salad better than the Macalaster's mustard based potato salad. Not as dry and it tastes better with chopped bacon.</div>

Early in the morning, you go out and jam a half-can full of beer up a fryer's *** and stick it on the smoker. Then, you like the fire and leave for work. When you come home, the chicken (s) will be cooked and you'll be ready for supper. Make more if you want cold chicken for lunch the next day.

the same old backstrap stuffed with deer sausage, cream cheese, jalapeños, covered in BBQ rub and brown sugar, wrapped in bacon and then smoked to medium rare.
