Why didn't Ray offer this kid? Everything I heard about him he would have killed to play at state. I saw him play at booneville and he was incredible.

He has had several of his family play college basketball. Everyone of them I had seen could jack it as soon as they crossed half court. Noone really comes from Northeast MS and plays DI.

He's at Georgia

Edit: and he's playing this year as a freshman for Georgia.

Is Colin Borchert the wrong color? Not sure I'm buying that line.

The part that is really sickening is we wouldn't offer Geno but wasted a scholly on a marginal JUCO player who didn't even bother to get himself eligible.

Absolutely, we would not even give this kid the time of day. He was ignored by the coaching staff when he came to games. He was even considering walking on at one point but we ignored him. Understand there was a terse encounter between father and our coach. We blew it just like we have all along anyway.

He was a preferred walk on. Then Ga offered late. He took the scholarship, can't blame him.
He wanted to play at State and was going to walk on until Ga threw him a bone. We did not ignore him.
