What do you expect?<div>
</div><div>That system does not breed winners. They play 3 or 4 games a day. Not that big a deal if you lose. The big deal is that you play "your" game.</div><div>
</div><div>Stansbury never should have brought this clown in and he should have run Augustus out of town years ago.</div>

....every year it's something. And we always band together and talk about how selfish Ja-Money was, or how the Delk twins were poison, or how stupid Dee Bost was, or what we should do to Kodi Augustus. Robert Jackson, Walter Sharpe? Ben Hansbrough? There's a common variable here....Rick Stansbury. It's time to cut bait.

why do our AAU guys turn into mental cases (literally) while others thrive?

I know the answer, I just saying.

And it may or may not have been the right thing to do at the time, I don't know... Sometimes that works, and guys like him play better when they feel like everybody loves them.

Obviously, the praise-lavishing strategy isn't working on this guy. Time to try something else. I'd try announcing "he's a lazy, good-for-nothing fatass who can't even get up and down the court so what good is all that talent if he is just going to waste it" in public to see if that works. Maybe he would get embarrassed and/or angry enough to try to prove everybody wrong. I highly doubt it, but what has Stans got to lose at this point?

...about the AAU mentality...it happens everywhere. You're seeing it in a big way at Memphis right now, for example, where they have elite talent all over the floor but everyone is too busy trying to get their individual numbers, and the team is suffering.

That said, it comes with the territory. If you're going to be competitive, you're going to have to recruit those players. You just have to make sure you know what you're getting, and that they buy into your system. I would've never pursued Sidney, not only because of his past, but because of his diva-esque attitude. He's the wrong kind of guy for a basketball program.

so they don't want to work, don't want to try. With the NBA pouring money and GUARANTEED contracts out there, why should they bother?
