To me it seems like there is to much going on during a football game to allow people to conduct an award ceremony during a timeout in the first place
Somebody should have let Beamer know, seems like another RT failure, Beamer has enough to worry about without having to worry about Title IX ceremonies during a timeout. Ridiculous to even be having these during a football game, sounds like another Staley/RT screwup. It was stupid to do it at that point. He should have known. That comes with the job. His inexperience is showing.

Disagree. Head Coaches know or should know what’s going on in the stadium during games - or as Kirby said, he had control; he could have prevented it. Could you imagine Saban (or Kirby) agreeing to that at any point other than halftime or otherwise not having a system in place where the head guy is ignorant? No way!No way. He's not an event planner. His time is taken up with preparing for the game. Coaches don't have anything to do with all the acknowledgements and things that go on during games. Nor do they pay attention to them. The last thing I want our head football coach doing is wasting time thinking about that meaningless stuff.
I agree that Tanner is a colossal screw-up and it’s likely Coach Woke pushed him for recognition during a big game where max ppl would be present, but do you think she’d tolerate a delay in one of her games at a critical moment to recognize men? She’d be screaming misogyny or some other nonsense.Somebody should have let Beamer know, seems like another RT failure, Beamer has enough to worry about without having to worry about Title IX ceremonies during a timeout. Either way, Beamer shouldn't have to apologize.
With 100+ people at that. If it was acknowledging 3 or 4 students, that's one thing. But trying to get 100+ onto and off the field in that short time frame was not a good idea.
It is kind of humorous, though, that Title IX acknowledgement was squeezed into a timeout of a men's game.
You may disagree, but it doesn’t make it so. I can tell you with absolute certainty that coaches don’t get involved and all that kind of nonsense… Honoring the 1984 women’s lacrosse conference championship team and all that junk that goes on during games. Just because this was horribly botched by those who were in charge of it has nothing to do with Beamer.Disagree. No, Tanner our brilliant AD should have informed him. Just another bad call by TannerIt was stupid to do it at that point. He should have known. That comes with the job. His inexperience is showing.
Screwed up timing by who ever makes those decisions…..should have been @ halftime with extra flexibility.
I guess, like the rest of us, they knew if they waited until halftime, most the Carolina fans would be out of the stadium and heading home by then. With 100+ people at that. He's got Dawn's support now, so all is well.
The question is who is the ‘dumb dumb’ who approved for it to be done during a time out? It made UofSC look all unorganized and stupid during a major football game, where we already look bad enough because of the score.

If you watched the press conference, he said he didn't have anything to do with it; it was the administration. He does not have the power to stop something like that if the Athletic Department has set it up. He's a football coach, not an athletic director.
I don’t care what he said. There’s no way I can imagine Saban or any other big time coach not being aware that something like that would happen to the point where it could affect play. It’s too convenient for him to plead ignorance. The highly successful coaches are control freaks. If you watched the press conference, he said he didn't have anything to do with it; it was the administration. This.We look stupid on TV. Kirby was bitching too but that didn't get any traction. Shows the state of our football program under Tanner. Embarrassing.
Finally a sensible, reasonable and factual post.He owes no apology. He didn’t know what was going on. All he knew was the game being interrupted ( for at least a couple of minutes) and during a critical play. Whoever ran the title nine ceremony is the one who should apologize. Never should have happened
Wow- he is learning on the job you know.He should apologize to the fans for pretending to be a football coach.
