I was in his camp for the longest time - but this entire season proved to me that we need to move on, and so does Sellers. Just go.... please!!! Awful coach, awful QB.
Not sure you even understand football. Did Sellers forget how to be a quarterback since last year? Or, maybe, just maybe, it's fairly difficult when he has a guard, LB and blitzing defensive back in his lap as soon as the ball reaches his hands when he is standing 5 yards from the center. Da fuq games were you watching this year?
Your're kidding me. Want Cutter to take over? LS is running for his life on nearly every play, has been since the bowl game last year. You must have been watching a different player if you thought Sellers wasn't struggling above and beyond the OL play.
Sellers is exactly the same QB he was last year. The difference is, opposing DCs know how to defend him now. He is a great athlete and a mediocre at best QB. The OL was no worse last season. Not sure you even understand football. Did Sellers forget how to be a quarterback since last year? And Beamer needs to surrender at least 2 million/yr to get a proven OC, and some OLinemen from the portal. Our OL needs to take several seats.
You're definitely not one of them.Your're kidding me. Want Cutter to take over? LS is running for his life on nearly every play, has been since the bowl game last year.
Whatever, carry on here at Gamecock Central, so many football gurus.![]()
That's why I come here, to gain football acumen. You're definitely not one of them.![]()
That's correct. Same QB, victim of a washed up son of an NFL coaching legend and good buddy of Beamer.Sellers is exactly the same QB he was last year. The difference is, opposing DCs know how to defend him now. He is a great athlete and a mediocre at best QB. The OL was no worse last season.
I was watching the games where Sellers was running out of bounds, backwards, for losses. Not sure you even understand football. Did Sellers forget how to be a quarterback since last year? Too bad you can't just leave it at that. That's why I come here, to gain football acumen.
You hit the bullseye.Sellers is exactly the same QB he was last year. The difference is, opposing DCs know how to defend him now. He is a great athlete and a mediocre at best QB. The OL was no worse last season.
YES, I do.Your're kidding me. Want Cutter to take over? LS is running for his life on nearly every play, has been since the bowl game last year.

Correct.I was firmly in Sellers camp but no denying he struggled with the decision making part of being a QB this year.No doubt the OL and poor coaching played a large part in his regression but he has a lot of bad habits that need to be unlearned.More than 1 QB has been ruined by a year like Sellers just experienced.
Correct.
I was actually waiting for him to SHOW PROGRESS during the year.....
No......no need to dig them up. I remember. I also remember the poster that lambasted me for having the audacity to say that Sellers was throwing over the middle to receivers who were apparently 30 feet tall....Should we dig up the "he needs to improve" threads? Some posters got really pissed off when it was suggested that Sellers needed to improve his game this past offseason.
We need names.No......no need to dig them up. I remember. I also remember the poster that lambasted me for having the audacity to say that Sellers was throwing over the middle to receivers who were apparently 30 feet tall....
Sellers doesn't overthrow anyone and is very accurate, apparently. But that poster said I know nothing about football, so.... No need to dig it up. It's pretty apparent who doesn't know anything about football. And that poster is apparently a "coach." Lol. You can't make this stuff up.

I have no doubt he's a true gamecock fan, and as an adult, I will errr on the side of doing the right thing....We need names.![]()
You must have been watching a different player if you thought Sellers wasn't struggling above and beyond the OL play.
That part, I don't recall. I can tell you that he was posting today in the game thread. So, he's here. Was he a coach, or was his dad a coach?
The other one played 2A highschool basketball. So thats how hes an "expert".
If you don't think the offensive line is the problem regardless of who is back there at QB, then you are definitely watching a different game. Does Sellers make mistakes and struggle? Absolutely. Did he go backwards some? Absolutely.
But I promise you that you could have Tom Brady at QB and that would be a 4 win team with that offensive line. It is absolutely horrific. Worst since Lou Holtz first year. Worst in college football this year.l
I think you missed a part of my post. I agree the OL caused many of his issues, but I think he struggled above and beyond that.
He missed passes badly, even when he wasn't under pressure. He ran backwards, took too many sacks, etc.
Yes, the OL was terrible. He didn't help himself though.
I also agree that there was a shift on how the coaches wanted him to be a pocket passer. And that is not conducive to success with him.
So let's take Sellers out of it for a minute. You could replace him with any QB you can name and SC still only wins 4 games. That offensive line is the worst in college football and it isn't even close.
I totally agree with you except for the point that you seem to be missing...If you don't think the offensive line is the problem regardless of who is back there at QB, then you are definitely watching a different game. Does Sellers make mistakes and struggle? Absolutely. Did he go backwards some? Absolutely.

We won 5 games with Sellers. You think Sellers is better than Brady? I sure don't.But I promise you that you could have Tom Brady at QB and that would be a 4 win team with that offensive line.
