I am married to a Rebel, and I was at their game Saturday. My yearly visit to Oxford is over, thank God..
You would have thought they had won the SEC with their reaction after the game.
They really think they will not lose another game this year, and beat us easily.
Here are a few delusional quotes from their fans.

"State hasn't played anybody this year, and you will be lucky to win another game with your schedule."
"We will beat State easily in the Egg Bowl this year"
"The Rebels will only lose one or two more game this year, UGA and/or LSU"
And my favorite..
"Mullen better take the next offer he gets. b/c Freeze is the best coach in MS and will dominate y'all in the future."

The Kool-aid is really strong in Oxford right now..

Can't say that I blame them, they've been in the Wilderness and Moses... uh Freeze is leading them out.

They still have no D though. Auburn had their best SEC Offensive output by far last Saturday.

Rebel co-worker: Yall still havent beaten anyone
Me: You have to win the games on your schedule, it is what it is...
Rebel co-worker: We are going to beat yall soundly in Oxford
Me: What are you basing that prediction on
Rebel co-worker: We hung with Bama and Texas and we beat the mess out of Auburn
Me: So your prediction is based on two bad losses and beating a team that you admit is a nobody??
Rebel co-worker: no retort
Me: blank stare**

Fellas, if you are waiting on Ole Miss fans to admit that anything in Starkville

or MSU is great then you will be waiting a long time. They have been schooled from birth on their superiority
and facts will never mean a thing to them so you can keep on trying but it ain't gonna happen.

He seems to be a good coach

I can admit it even though they refuse to admit the same about merlins. I truly hope he is as good as they think. Reason being, my dream is to one day watch MSU beat an 11-0 OM team and knock them out of their first SECW title, the SECCG, and destroy their hopes of a national title all in one fell swoop. Nothing would suit their egotistical and falsely entitled fan base better.

The ONLY reason they beat Auburn is because the tigers got away from running the ball. That's the bears biggest most glaring weakness is that they can NOT stop the run. If you look at the stats in the 1st half of the game in Oxturd AU had like 100yds rushing at halftime but decides to pass the ball in the 2nd half? Wha? Idiot behind the wheel!

What??

This is your dream? 17 that. I hope they don't even get close to us having to knock them out of that scenario. Again 17 that and all they are about.

i would collect all of the tears

and nourish myself with them for years to come. Of course, in this dream scenario we would also be 11-0 and they would get to watch us live out their dream.

you know the saying you see the most improvement between wk1 and wk2...

the better your program gets the harder it is to see the improvement
if you notice improvement in your program ...your program still sucks!

Remember Rockey started 6-1 & beat a ranked team.

I'm still not a beleiver in Freeze. You can't depend on being +5 in turnovers, bone-head opposing coaching moves, and having your players hyped every week. Freeze is very inexperienced and so are many of his assistants.

Remember how the Bears said Texas would beat Bama in the BCS title game?

That's sad. Why isn't your dream for us to go undefeated?

If we somehow found a way to beat Bama and were sitting at 8-0 (assuming we take care of business this weekend), I don't know if Oxford could take it. How in the hell could they spin that into an overrated statement for MSU? Would be a tough one.

I know a few that are waiting for us to lose to the #1 team in the country so that they can somehow use that loss as a showing that we are way overrated. If it happens, the board will be filled with I Told You So's and such for a while.

Just an FYI

OM and MSU have very comparable rush defense stats, with MSU holding a slight edge in ypg allowed (140 v 145) and OM having a fairly large edge in YPC allowed (3.8 v 4.3). And that's despite OM playing a much tougher schedule thus far. But anyway, never let facts get in the way of a good opinion.

Sorry, forgot I was on SPS

sounds a lot like...

Ole Miss fan: you haven't beating anybody in the west except Ole Miss

please explain how you are overrated when you lose to the #1 team in the nation?
Could you be overrated if you were given 6 turnovers and still allowed a team to score 30points against you? ...perhaps

I'll take the stat that we have had 5 TDs rushed against our defense and 8 against yours to go along with our undefeated record all day long. Bend don't break.

So which is it?

They really think they will not lose another game this year, and beat us easily.

Or

"The Rebels will only lose one or two more game this year, UGA and/or LSU"

Ah, the mythical unnamed Bearz fan. As elusive as the Sasquatch. Widely rumored to exist in message board lore but never substantiated with anything other than anecdotal evidence.

MSU gave up more total yards to Auburn than Ole Miss did, and Ole Miss only gave up 60 in the 2nd half.

There is an overwhelming amount of funny generalizations in this thread though. Coach Freeze still said "We're not there yet" even after the win. No rational fan thinks we're going to win out.

State had only allowed 90 yards through 3 quarters. All the yards Auburn got in the 4th were with our 3rd string in the game.

You also gave twice as many points to Auburn than we did and let them score more than they had scored against anybody this year except for ULM.

We haven't let a team score 66 on us . . . at home . . . on national television . . . and then somehow spun that into a moral victory.

If I have to explain then its not worth it. Started to put it in quotes, but figured everybody on here was smart enough that I didn't have too. I stand corrected. My apologies.

Well, we'll just conclude that you definitely didn't marry into the creame of the crop up there, farmer.

Also, auburn scored 3 on our defense. Most scores outside of Troy and TN have been on our second string.

Nobody spun that into a moral victory. Here is Freeze's exact quote post game

“Obviously we’re very disappointed that we weren’t able to keep the game close and keep our fansthere. I thought that would be an advantage we would have late in the game if we could get in and the
place would’ve been electric. If we would have made enough plays offensively early in the game, we
might have been able to do that. We gave them some quick scores early because we didn’t take care of
the ball and did not play well defensively. I’m not taking anything away from Texas because they’re a
wonderful football team, very physical, very deep, with tremendous speed.”

“We didn’t play our best game. Whether or not it would have been good enough to be with them in the
fourth quarter I don’t know, but I sure would’ve liked for us to play a little better and take care of the
football. We’ve got to go to work and get better.”

You've played BAMA and got thumped! congratulations! WOW! TEXAS sucks and you were thumped by them as well! 66-31! LOL! Couldn't beat Texas A&M despite A&M committing 6 turnovers! LOL! Congratulations on beating the worst SEC team ever! Now you will finish in the same 6th place you finished last year! LOL! Have you won a game against a winning SEC team? NO, and guess what, you will not do it this year! Stats are what inferior teams and losers like you selectively use to try to justify their existence! By the way, never let reality get in the way of your post! JUST AN FYI!

That's because Mullen doesn't twist his foot when it's on someone's throat. Hopefully he changes his policy in late November.
