of the whole release, FOOTBALL. Guess I wouldn't mention it either if I was them.

But I've never understood what is so "great" about the tailgating in the grove. It's just a semi-color coordinated pageant; a f'n facade. Seriously, what makes it any better than any other tailgating venue in the SEC, or other conferences? Women? I've yet to visit a college campus that's not crawling with hot snatch. Attire? Who wants to mingle amongst a bunch of uppidy, pompous jackasses dressed like they're going to a wedding, half of whom have no idea a football game is about to be played. Food? C'mon...I can go to Wal-Mart, buy a couple of silver platters and throw some chips and party platters on them. The last time I was in the grove security made us put out our grill.

I just don't get it. I DON'T GET IT MAN!

When you compare MSU to OM, MSU is a MUCH prettier campus. The landscaping, the buildings, the trees, the layout all is much better than what they have up there. I know it is subjective but the reason why they get so much attention nationally is because they "pretend" that it is that much better and scream it to everyone who will listen. OM has mastered the art of using messageboards to further the facade. They go so far as to write up fake letters from visiting teams fans lauding the greatest school of all time.

Some of you probably even believe it to be true because they have been telling you that your whole lives. So many MSU fans just buy into the falsehoods that they have been telling you your whole life.

1) The food isn't all that good. The cramped space doesn't give a lot of room for on-site preparation, but if you go to the Grove for good tailgating food you will leave disappointed. However, based on the attitudes about the Grove, going to the Grove for food is like going to Ole Miss for classroom learning.<div>2) The area is cramped. Some would say that this is not a bug, rather a feature. However, you're going to be hard pressed to find a place to stretch out or have room to do other tailgating activities.</div><div>3) If it has rained in the previous 2 days, you better stay on the sidewalks. The place gets muddy real fast. Sure there are parts of the Junction that get muddy, but the Grove can turn into a mud pit fast.</div><div>
</div><div>I'll admit that I liked the Grove more than tailgating at State when I was a State student back in 99-03, but the tailgating scene at State was awful where the tailgating sites were scattered. After all of the SEC teams cycle through Starkville a few more times and we have a couple big OOC games there, the Junction will become pretty well known. I'll take barbecue and tailgating games over cold Abner's and red pants.</div>

Compare the Grove to The Junction. What I like better about MSU tailgaiting is:
1. Central location with real grass under the oak trees
2. Within steps of the stadium
3. Cooking out on grills! - To me this is huge. Who wants a friggin plastic party platter every game when you can dedicate hours to slow smoking a nice pork butt or ribs or whatever that can be eaten fresh and hot throughout the day?

We have something very unique at State that is the envy of many visiting fanbases. Be proud of it!!

If you like to:

1. Cook out on grills
2. Eat great food
3. Play games like cornhole, etc.
4. Consider tailgating the lead up to the football game

Then the Junction is where you will want to be.

If you like to:

1. Bring pre-made food that is OK and less of a hassle than cooking
2. Consider tailgating the most important part of the day
3. See tailgating as a huge social event that centers upon women and what they want to wear/do/talk about
4. Care a lot about what people think about your particular tailgate

Then the Grove is where you will want to be.

I see the value in both. OM definitely has something unique. I don't think it is the best per say but it is something you can't get at every school. For me, I'd rather not worry about what everyone is wearing and would much rather be tending a massive grill/smoker that is filled with food for my friendswhile drinking some cold beer. I'm not knocking those in Oxford though that want to sit back and watch the fashion show. Each to his own.
