I think he may have left the game at half time but he met with the coaches

after game according to his interview. I fully expect a CJ type of episode with both
Shumpert and Kalio, I hope we are prepared.

Speaking of this, anyone have an update? Bears or Dawgs, either one?

I don't care the spin, but I'd like to hear some recruiting news if anyone has any.

Kailo, yes. Shump, no.

According to DJ's obsession (writing articles on Kailo), he met with the UM coaches before the game. I read somewhere that he left at half, and had another person tell me the same. Of course, DJ's 24/7 article is so slanted, you'd have to read between the lines to figure that out.

I'm not worried about Shump. His recruitment has been fairly drama-free so far and will continue to be that way. On the other hand, Kailo might start a fire. But as it stands, he seems committed.

Ive got no problem with that article...they did have a big game day atomesphere thanks to the Longhorn Nation showing up, and they were smart enough to bring in as many big names as possible. They may have been brutally assaulted by Texas on the field, but did anyone think they had a real shot. After the last two seasons with Nutt, I dont blame them for being positive about anything. They have some tough weekends ahead of them, and the chance for early playing time doesnt outweigh getting your brains bashed in to most recruits.

really is amazing how this game has been spun into nothing but a positive event for the bears. Really? I watched the entire game and came away with one conclusion; they blow. They had their *** kicked and weren't even competitive. I’m not trying to talk ****, but let’s be honest here bear fans.
Basically they’re saying “we didn’t givez up!!!11!” Nice moral victory, I guess. Holy ****. This is Baghdad-Bob type delusion. I guess if you say it enough, it’s true. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, “the grovez rulz!!1” So their two main points were they didn’t quit?? and the grove is awesome. Fail.

Maybe....Tuberville took a different approach.....

...and I'd say it works much better. He wanted to get wins, and establish a winner. And it paid off with his recruiting, when he left for Auburn, you had an Ole Miss team that was getting pretty solid, guys like Deuce and others, that would set the table for success all the way through 2003.

I don't see where Mullen playing the hardest schedule in the country in 2009, while having awesome atmospheres like three times, helped us during recruiting. Our 2010 class was average. Better classes started coming when he started winning. Yes, we got some good recruits due to pimping early playing time, but the real solid classes didn't start until last year with the 2012 class. That's due to portraying ourselves as a winning program

So, by all means, let's keep scheduling the patsies while Ole Miss keeps getting their asses kicked in a manufactured big game environment. They'll probably get a 5 star guy for their effort, but we'll get five 4 stars because we're winning.

I would expect major shenanigans with Kailo and Conner before all is said and done. Given their hometown locations, I wouldn't expect the Bears to let either of those 2 go without pulling out all the stops so just be prepared. Given Shumpert's location and the fact he's always been considered MSU's to lose I wouldn't expect as much behind the scenes action on him.

This is an entire article about what recruits "saw" or what their impressions were, without actually speaking to or interviewing any of them? That's some A+ journalism there.

I get a kick out of the recruiting selling point of being able to come in and play immediately at Ole Miss because the defense sucks so bad. Couldn't you say the same for Tulane, Memphis, Jackson State, etc.?

The main reason that Mullen's recruiting improved was not because of Mullen, but because of Houston Nutt and his inept and lazy staff. I think it will be a lot harder now that Bucky is at TSUN.

Pretty sure the Bears need to call a doctor. The erection they've had over this game has gone way over 4 hours.

Funny how the story changes. Two years ago all we heard was what a great coach Nutt was and how he was kicking Mullen's *** in recruiting. Even last year we heard about how he had pulled in one of the best recruiting class in Mississippi history and how that freshman class was going to dominate MSU. Now the story is that Nutt was a lazy recruiter and that one of the worst losses in school history is a huge recruiting win. Keep spinning.

this is ********. Mullen at least has the pedigree and after obvious improvement and two winning seasons, he is proving he is legit and that is why recruiting has gotten better. All things being equal (handshakes of equal amount, etc.) MSU wins out in recruiting 75% of the time because of the cultures of the two schools. With this davinner/ncaa **** going on, the bears will run rampant in january and we can't do anything about it b/c of said davinner/ncaa issues. I'm sure Conner, Mix, and Kailo will be their main targets mainly b/c of their location and star power.

How does game day atmoshphere in the Grove work for a player who is on the team? They only walk through the grove and partake in none of the festivities. They then get their asses beat. Sounds like something I wouldn't want to do. Everyone else who is not a player had a great day.

The ONLY class that that factor contributed to was the 2012 signing class. No doubt that by mid-October Nutt had pretty much quit on all fronts including recruiting. But its funny how in all the years before that the Bears were crowing about how they had beaten us in recruiting AGAIN even calling the 2011 class the Mississippi home run.

I dont' get the big game atmosphere and how hyped the fans were the whole game. By 3rd quarter the stands were showing some pretty gaping holes up high and by the end of that quarter those holes were spreading all over the stands. I guess they all started leaving at halftime to see what Kailo was up to.

Not with Conner. He's pretty buttoned up. He's a really sharp dude and avoids drama. I'm not saying he won't find a briefcase, but I bet it will be kept tightly under wraps.

My bud swore up and down that Texas fans far outnumbered Ole Miss.

But whatever. Nothin' like a good ol' fashioned gridiron woodshed butt rapin' to get the recruits flocking to the ship.

he's enjoying the recruiting process and the visits.........UGA is in the Shump sweepstakes........
