Bears play the Patriots in Chicago as well this fall. Wonder when was the last time the Bears played both SB participants from the previous year. I know they played both in 1985 and both were road games.

Nevermind. According to my source, the Bears last played both SB participants from the previous season in 2018. They lost to New England during the regular season and lost to Philadelphia in the playoffs as well.
NE and Eagles in 2018.

Looks like this week we are going to Arlington Heights! Never knew what a PIA this process is.

Really hard to imagine that this family could screw this up, eh?

What's more is that this family was born into the NFL. That's been the business of this family since 1920, and they are so bad at it. Makes me think there is a real conspiracy behind what happened to Mugs.

It is what Warren was hired to do. Create interest and a bidding war to make the bears the most money. He has done it to perfection.
But did he, he dicked around for two years with unrealistic Chicago/other suburban site flirting. Everyone knew those were not a real options the day they were floated. He has been chasing leverage since he got here and it finally fell into his lap.
The state hasn't really changed its tune. They have been saying for a year and a half they are willing to do infrastructure and tax certainty. Yes there are some fine details they need to figure out and get a few discontents on board. The lack of movement has been a both sides thing. Bears were vague/didn't give specific clarity and state didn't have a real reason to move quickly. Now they do and I expect this will end up in AH like we all thought.

According to a source I used, the Bears organization has the 5th highest average ticket price in the NFL. Of the top 10 teams in cost, six made the playoffs. Of the top 15, nine made the playoffs. Seattle was 11th and New England was 12th. Other sources quote different placement. But, I would expect the ticked prices for the Bears to go up exponentially when the new house is opened.

If you look at ticket prices as a Chicago thing here is what I found. The Bulls have the 7th highest average ticket prices in the NBA. The Blackhawks have the 3rd highest average ticket prices in the NHL. The Cubs have the 4th highest average ticket prices and the White Sox came in at 26th. Again, not all sources have the placement the same. But all are pretty close.

Outside of the Bears, it's a lot of money to watch very average to bad teams.

I would say he was hired to get the new stadium built. That involves making deals with local and state authorities. He’s made some progress. He hasn’t closed yet, so he has not yet done what he was hired to do.

He's done a great job making sure he has been front and center for every post-game victory speech, though

New league year starts March 11. We are going to see the releasing of players and restructuring of contract activity pick up some steam soon.

Kyle Long made a great point yesterday. Bears have poured money into developing Lake Forest. Would be a 2 hour drive to the new stadium

This isn't over. Bear have specifically told AH this is not a declaration they are moving to IN, contrary to all the crap you read on social media.
If anyone has ever been to actual site, I have, it is not a good site. It is clearly a fall back option. If the Bears really want development around the stadium than AH is the site and it is not even a question. NW IN is nice, spent a lot of time there but that specific area is not a place you want to put a stadium you hope has lots of development around it.

I wonder how many times it takes 2 hours to drive from Lake Forest just to the present Bear stadium. The other day it took me 90 minutes from Loyola HS to Little Italy area.

Question??

If the Bears move across state lines to Indiana, does this mean the Bears nationally televised games over the air will not or at times will not be picked as the NFL game to be shown in the Chicago area, and maybe our area gets the Packers, Lions or Vikings games instead?

Waddle and Silvy said The hotel they stay at for home games is the same distance to soldier and Hammond.

It is like 10 minutes over the border. It is closer to Chicago than Arlington Heights. Still don’t think the Bears are going there but if they do it will not impact the games being broadcasted locally.

I love how as soon as the Bears threaten to move all of a sudden Indiana is this far off land. Those who live in the south/southwest burbs can get to Hammond faster than they can get to Soldier Field. Hammond falls within the 30 mile radius to several CCL teams but no one says anything about that. If they move to Hammond, and I don't think they will, it's not a big deal and closer to Chicago than AH. Everyone is making a big deal just because they may be crossing a border. And I have no clue what Lake Forest or Halas Hall has to do with any of this.

Soldier Field to AH is 30 miles, Soldier Field to Hammond is 27 miles. You worried about televised games if they move to AH too?

Hammond/Munster is literally Exit #1 when you cross the border. I won't like the jokes that our fight song will take from Packer Nation when we say "The Pride and Joy of Illinois" but this is a better financial deal for the Bears. Giants and Jets play in New Jersey, Niners are an hour from San Francisco.

This is likely true during usual days/times when the Bears play at home. Not so much during weekday afternoon/evening rush hours (especially Fridays) if using eastbound I-80 starting around LaGrange Rd.

Ah, they are in the 30 miles radius, that makes sense on how they are able to recruit the Bears.

I can tell you aren't from the Chicago area. No one, and I mean NO ONE in Chicagoland measures distances from one place to another in mileage. It's time measurement. LOL. Just because it is three miles closer to Hammond does not mean you'll get there quicker than AH.

Doesn’t matter, they are not moving Hallas Hall.
If they move to Hammond not moving Halas Hall would be the ultimate cheapskate move. They could have a much nicer facility and much better property to layout the new facility. Halas Hall is nice, but it doesn't see very well thought out.

They are not going to move Hallas Hall, the Bears confirmed with Trib and Sun Times after everyone jumped the gun on Hammond.

Bears Center Drew Dalman retires at 27. I swear you can't make this stuff up.

Between this and Tripilo being out most of next year I guess OL is back to being an offseason priority.
