I'm not a financial guru but I think the "official valuation" that was just done is more in-depth than what Forbes can estimate.Just because that's what they valued the team at doesn't mean it's true and that they didn't over pay for his shares. According to Forbes the Bears were worth $6.4 billion last year. It's possible, I suppose, but I don't see how their value increased by $2.4 billion in one year when nothing within the organization changed.
Something is only worth what someone will pay for it. If the McCaskey's value the Bears at $8.8 billion and paid that valuation for 2% then that's what they think the team is worth. I'm sure there's no chance they over valued the team, especially since they are the only NFL owners that have their entire net worth tied to the team they own.I'm not a financial guru but I think the "official valuation" that was just done is more in-depth than what Forbes can estimate.
I believe the Giants have a similar thing going on, it will be interesting to see what their official valuation comes in at compared to Forbes.
The league has already committed to buying in. The state has a vote coming up in October that will cover a portion and George has already stated they will pay a healthy portion.Something is only worth what someone will pay for it. Sadly, this is why the Bears will never own their own stadium, they can't afford it.
And we are taking Dierre Hill in '29 from Oregon.Per Pops, 2027.
He couldn’t beat out a 7th round pick who can barely take a snap.Arch Manning would look good in a Bears uniform right now.

Bold…Ewers stinks! I was mad all last year Ewers was playing over Manning. Texas did go far last year but by the eye test I did not think much of Ewers and don't see him doing much in the NFL.
I really think the Texas HC played Ewers over Manning last year because he knew Ewers was going into the NFL draft and he has a shot of having Manning start for Texas for two more years.Bold…
Yah I noticed that too - maybe they’re waiting for the regular season to startArn't we missing like three avid key posters in this thread?

Oh I’m always here - and there - and everywhere!Like yourself I really enjoy their input!

My comment was in reference to you saying Ewers, a 7th rd QB pick, wasn't going to have much of an NFL career. Not sure anyone thinks he is going to do much other than maybe be on a roster.I really think the Texas HC played Ewers over Manning last year because he knew Ewers was going into the NFL draft and he has a shot of having Manning start for Texas for two more years.
We have not seen Arch play enough in college to guage him yet but he does come from the Manning bloodline in which three of them were very good in the NFL.
It's been a joke from the beginning. He was playing chicken and there wasn't even anyone else on the roadWtf is Kevin Warren doing with the stadium, seriously. They announce over the weekend AH is sole focus and shovels in ground still in 2025…cool. But they haven’t began lobbying Springfield on the tax bill they want! Put aside your thoughts on the tax bill but what are you doing? The fall session is coming and you now need more votes than spring session. He’s blown this from day 1 unless they are slow playing it to pay less on the lease break? This isn’t even bringing up the ridiculous city proposal they tossed out last year. What a joke….
Sorry, rant over.
Exactly….give me Sweaty Teddy for this lol. It's been a joke from the beginning. He was playing chicken and they wasn't even anyone else on the road
Ya, cause the Bills are in town…Rumor is Mitch Trubisky has been seen all over Chicago today.
There are people who "study" poverty and then there are those who actually "live" or have lived it. Big difference and Bagent is obviously lived poverty and being poor. His is a great story and proof that success is possible no matter what you look like or where you come from. Gratitude is a great thing. I am very happy for him.Hard not to love Bagent after seeing his press conference after getting his extension.
On a more depressing note, he's the first QB the Bears have extended since Cutler.
Just not seeing much improvement. Throwing the ball late over the middle is never a good idea. I think you are going to see the heat intensify on ol Caleb as the weeks go by this year. And to think the guy who drafted him, amongst the many missteps, got a recent extension.Caleb looks overrated.
He looks lost. Doesn’t seem to trust anything he sees. He’s playing so afraid to make a mistake - that’s not the guy they drafted. Don’t know if this is who he will be or not but he needs to make the next step.Just not seeing much improvement. Throwing the ball late over the middle is never a good idea. It was impressive that he managed to get not one, but two intentional groundings.Just not seeing much improvement. Throwing the ball late over the middle is never a good idea. The only thing I disagree with is that this is exactly who they drafted. At USC he was used to WRs being open by 5+ yards and he can't wrap his head around the fact that having any kind of separation in the NFL is open.He looks lost. Doesn’t seem to trust anything he sees. He’s playing so afraid to make a mistake - that’s not the guy they drafted. Don’t know if this is who he will be or not but he needs to make the next step.
When you have ALOT of bad players penalties are a common theme. On the first drive the FS on Loveland killed that drive. Caleb’s grounding flag led to a missed FG. That’s basically 10 points.Watched the game with someone who made a good point. The amount of penalties this team continues to accumulate is alarming. At what point does Ben Johnson get questioned for the apparent lack of discipline?
It's hard to tell how much Odunze has progressed and how much DJ has potentially regressed when Caleb only ever looks to throw to Rome. That's what led to the INT, he was eye balling Odunze from the start.I do see Odunze taking the next step this year. I think DJ Moore has taken a step back.
I also thought there would be more production from our tight ends.
The Missou / Estl kid i have not seen on the field much.
Ben Johnson is the man.Funny how Mike Vrabel has the Patriots in 1st place in the AFC East at 6-2. I wanted the Bears to hire this guy. I was tepid over the hiring of Johnson and the Bears in giving him a huge contract. The guy is an unproven HC. Say what you want about the Pats' schedule. They beat the Bills in Buffalo. And Drake Maye is having a very good season. Williams is lost...again.
