DJ Moore will be traded after the season.
Not as easy as it sounds, signed through 2029 at $23MM base.
I do not know the particulars on when he could be cut and minimize cap hit but with his year it's no given that teams are going to be lining up.
Edit, there is an out after 2027 season with a $4MM dead cap hit.

Sounds like Kyler is the largest at risk of being traded based on Ben's comments yesterday

His effort isn't good and he's getting passed up. He has no one to blame but himself.

Bears are going to have to eat it and hope they get something in return...don't think that's happening.

If I am understanding it correctly the Bears would assume $35MM in dead cap money, I believe it can be spread out over 2 years?
The more realistic trade comes after 2026 season, dead cap is $8MM.
Plus, the Bears are not in the most advantageous of cap situations currently, not dreadful but not to take a hit like that and add to roster like they will need. They do have the lowest dead cap hit in the league, which is nice. The base salary off the books gets offset by the dead cap hit. Even if they can spread it out over two years $17MM/year in dead cap money is a tough pill to swallow and I don't see them doing that.

Hopefully someone thinks he’s just disgruntled in Chicago and a fresh start will benefit him

Caleb’s accuracy was improved, especially considering the conditions. Of course, the Browns are awful, but good teams bury bad teams. If anyone would have told me the Bears would be 10-4, I would have said no way.

Top 5 defense in most categories
True, their defense is good. Was speaking overall. The Browns are one of the many awful teams in the NFL. The Bears buried them as they should have.

With the Packers and Lions losing, the Bears are back on top of the division. Sets up smother huge game with the Pack next week. Who woulda thunk it?

Brutal game for sure. Patrick Mahomes tore his ACL yesterday. Micah Parsons went down as well with what looks to be a torn ACL as well. I saw the Parsons injury when it happened and saw Mahomes' right after it happened with the replay.

Stop and think of the odds Vegas could have given you in August if you had bet the Bears to win more games than the Chiefs. Wow! I have been away from the board to say it here, but was hoping the Broncos would do the Bears a favor and beat Green Bay. And they did. And that was a real good game.

But the Lions can still pass the Bears as can GB so they have to stay focused. Different Packers defense with Parsons out, though.

If the Bears win one more game they could still miss the playoffs. If the Lions run the table and if the Bears beat either SF or GB and lose to Detroit, the Lions would jump them. The Bears definitely have the toughest last three games between them, SF, GB and DET. But the remaining schedule for SF is a tough one too with having to go to Indy this coming week, then the Bears and SEA at home.

A loss to any of these remaining teams the Bears face could prove to be devastating. To me, the Bears HAVE to think division champions. Not Wild Card. They are in the driver's seat now and have to stay there.

Did not like seeing Rome aggravated his injury in pre game. I know it's week by week right now but I was kinda hoping he would be inactive to hopefully been ready for GB game. It's the NFL though, everyone is hurt this time of year.

Agreed. Guys went down yesterday too. I think it was the Colts, Seattle game where a guy caught a pass and was tackled. He got up and just fell right back down. That was pretty scary to see. A lot of big hits in the GB, DEN game too.

Hopefully, Luther's ankle is nothing serious. Would be tough if both he and Rome are out. After the catch, Luther is electric in the open field. Loveland looks really good too. Looking like Poles had a great offseason last year with the draft picks and moves on the interior of the Oline.

We’re 10-4 and in first place but feel extremely uneasy about these next 3 weeks.

Anyone else?
Finishing with 3 playoff caliber teams and two at home in the cold is a tough way to end the season. I know its "Bear Weather" but I cannot imagine playing 3 of your last 4 in frigid temps is good for the body.

Sure. They have three tough opponents. But, look on the bright side. They have meaningful games at the end of the year. Any realistic Bear fan would have jumped at that prospect at the start of the year.

Yes, but this is what we WANTED!!!
Bears put themselves in position to control their playoff hopes with 3 weeks left.
I love this feeling of uneasiness.
I have had the feeling a bunch this year "when does this come back to normal" and even with the GB loss it didn't. They can beat GB, they can beat SF, DET scares me more but they are not 2024 Lions.

It is going to be low of 23F this Saturday with feel like temp in teens. That is completely different than single digits with negative feel like temp.
Somehow I think they will be ok....

Edmonds 21 day window to be activated opened, might be in play for Sat.
Burden is day to day with ankle injury.
Sounds like Bears might sit Rome.

I'll agree with most of this post - good stuff.

Except, nothing comes to mind of Caleb running anything like Mahomes. He just doesn't like contact and isn't the type to go get a yard if needed.
He shouldn’t take hard hits if he wants to continue to play in the NFL. Saying he is soft is just stupid. How many QBs would’ve made it through their rookie season taking the hits he took last year. He is smart to avoid the hard hits. Ask Dart or Daniels among others. He is listening to his coach telling him to get down or throw the ball away.

I feel more confidence than unease. That doesn't mean I believe the Bears are just going to walk through these last three games. This is the ultimate test for them. These games will also tell us just how good the Bears are, whether they can advance in the playoffs (provided they do make the playoffs) and where the holes really are.

The rough weather in Chicago will affect the play of both teams, especially if there is much wind. The running game will be a huge thing in this. And if the D keeps taking the ball away I like their chances to win the division.

But I do have that unease in my mind too. I mean, it's the Bears. It's what they do. :):)

Watson (GB) has a bad shoulder and "could" play v Bears. It originally was said to be chest but he avoided serious injury per reports.
Glad he is "ok" but wouldn't mind if they decided to let him heal up.

You guys act like this is something new, hell Halas almost moved the Bears to Gary.

They'll try to get this to build up steam for the next few months and as it hits peak it will be right as state lawmakers are back in Springfield for the spring session.
