Beat Michigan and we could be 8-0 going into OSU

Another look at me thread by Al, shocking, just shocking.
I'm not sure it's about that. Maybe he drinks one too many, listens to his favorite let's get pumped music and then puts up wildly unrealistic posts about last year's 99th ranked team (and roughly 110th ranked offense) beating Michigan to go 8-0. But predictions like that are not especially helpful when they're so completely unrealistic. Let's get an offense that can complete a forward pass first.

I know. It’s just annoying that it fools so many others into responding.

RU Football is better without rutgersal.
Don’t let this thread stifle your editorial greatness. There are many other threads you can participate in. You can also start your own, on a topic you find interesting.

Last years 99th ranked team and 110th ranked offense was beating Michigan 17-14 up until 8:24 left in the third quarter. This year we have the depth and talent to finish the job, as Jackson, Brantley, Bowman, Toure, and Braithwaite Are offensive difference makers we’ve since added to the roster. They will allow Wimsatt to flourish and boost his passing stats.

It’s not impossible…
It’s not impossible is irrelevant.
“I believe” or “you believe” is irrelevant.

Theres only reality.
Reality is if we we’re anywhere close to 7-1 or 8-0 going into OSU… we have at least a dozen NFL players on the field on both sides of the ball and a QB good enough to take us down the field in the last two minutes of both halves.
We would also have several position groups ranked in the top 10 in the country.
Are those things possible this year?
.
That’s the reality.

But we know Al doesn’t live in reality. He lives to be the #1 jackwad on Message Board Genuises.

All we have to have is similar or better talent than the teams were playing in the first 8 games. We have that with the exception of Michigan, which is the one team we should lose to, but could win. Don’t think anyone will complain if we start out 7-1, or even 6-2.

You’re my *****
not nice Al, why stoop to their level and use petty insults instead of your usual ( extremely) optimistic outlook that sets them off.
Just because they don't understand or like you being overly optimistic when all they see the negative and post insulting replies, doesn't mean you should act like them.
Just say this year will be a winning season with a major bowl game to boot, making their heads explode and start name calling because optimism isn't part of their RU Fanhood, they have been programed to accept failure and fight optimism by those just like them who post a never ending stream of we can't win and give up before the season even begins.
For them: winning isn't an option, it's an impossibility

And it didn't score a point against Maryland and Minnesota and struggled against everyone else. But it might go 8 and 0...somehow.

The big question mark is the offense. If Wimstatt takes the next step and plays well with significant improvement from the O-line and WRs , we will be more than competitive. Without being a RutgersAl Pollyanna, I really feel we can win 6 games and be bowl eligible. And hopefully , one of those wins is against Michigan, OSU , Wisconsin or PSU. If that happens , this program will take off just like the basketball program has taken off in recruiting.. Schiano has shown that the staff can recruit w/o a Fran Brown on the roster . Imagine what they could do by demonstrating to Doubting Thomases that the team is definitely on the upswing and can compete at high levels in the Big Ten.

True . But one thing to root for the guy to be successful , you really stumped and believed in him
Not a crime to support and believe in the Rutgers head coach. On paper, he should have succeeded. It didn’t work out. Now we have the right guy in place who is positioning us to be successful for the long haul.

We’ve changed the leadership of the offense and recruited better talent via the portal and high school. Plus talent from the ‘22 class has matured. The quarterbacks have matured and should make fewer mistakes.

Had Vedral played last year, the offense would have been much more effective. But his injury in training camp forced us to play kids who weren’t ready last year. This year they’re ready.

The offense is significantly different from what took the field last year. Not sure why it is so difficult for you to understand that the offense should be much improved. The talent is better.

You have less than zero
Idea of the talent of our opponents, including Temple…none

In the last several months there's been some posts from AL that haven't had the same delusional seemingly manic predictions of success for Rutgers football. It's made me kinda sad that even Al's optimistic view of Rutgers football had been destroyed like the rest of us.

It's nice to see that you're yourself RutgersAl.

I’ve read Phil Steele’s preview, which has provided me with a good idea of our opponents talent.
Lol
It’s about our talent…
And a Dozen NFL players. on the field.
And a QB who can march you down the field in crunch time
It would be fun to see.
At minimum you need 3 NFL starters on the O Line to compete

This from the same guy that wrote the next two years are free…lol. Now he’s doing exactly the opposite of that thread.

He just likes getting bent over on these boards; he gets some sort of perverse pleasure from it. Maybe we should all pitch in for a sex doll.

What a ridiculous post. No one here is really super negative. Most rational people know this program is a work in progress (especially on offense). You can’t make ridiculous statements like we will be 8-0 when we first need to see if we have a QB/offense. Everyone here is rooting for the program. We all know (except one poster) to take one game at a time.

We have a QB and offense based on the returning talent, incoming recruits, and transfers.

If you want to say “show me”, that’s fair. But don’t rain on our parade just because we believe and you don’t.

QB is in much better shape than OL, WR and TE. The OL is nowhere near where RU needs it to be to compete at this level outside of Pierce and they brought no one in either.

Sutton’s story is nice but unless he’s on the official two deep out of camp don’t expect much from him. It was a gruesome injury and he’s lucky to even be able to suit up. Playing is a different matter.

I like Al
Both on this board and in person.
Is he over the top with his predictions? Yes. So what?

I much prefer his outlook than many of the Debbie Downers that post here on the regular. If you want to piss in your own Cheerios, have at it. If you don't like his takes, don't read them. The idea of banning him or policing his ideas is nonsense.

Keep being you Al. Screw the detractors.

I don't expect your team to be 8-0 by any stretch of the imagination, but it's technically possible, and I don't see the harm in dreaming about it..
