Gonna be down in Pearlington doing some rehab work in the coming weeks. Can anyone suggest some great seafood eats in the area? Heard Lil Ray's in Long Beach had good poboys? What else?

Something within a 30 min drive of Pearlington would be best.

For comparison, I used to love the C&D Gumbo House in Gulfport years ago.

Thanks!!

Trapani's in Bay St. Louis for sure. Never been but the Jordan River Steamer is supposed to be good.

17 I eat there every couple weeks and was planning on going this week. Dempseys in the kiln is the best that I have had. I have not had the steamer because it's extremely expensive. Get the stuffed trout at dempseys. The gator red beans and baked macaroni are good also.

A co-worker tried to go for lunch last week and said all the tables/chairs were gone and no one around. I agree on Dempsey's. Good lunch specials and about the only thing in the area.

Ricky's is very casual, good fried seafood and several non-fried items that are great. (Better than Lil Rays)

Trapani's is very good. I ate there last week and it was good. Service is lacking (and has been since reopening on the water). Trout Almondine is very good

Jordan River Steamer is very good but very expensive. If I'm paying that kind of money, I'm going to Mary Mahoney's in Biloxi.

You will not be far from Slidell either... if you want to go that direction, Try Nathan's.

Nathan's and Michael's are good in Slidell, so is Bistro de la Reine if you're looking for a Creole twist on seafood, and KY's Bicycle Shop is pretty good for a range of dishes, too (all in Slidell).

Trapani's is back in it's old location and I recommend you try and get a table upstairs or outside downstairs if you go--fantastic views of the bay bridge.

...be careful. I went in there one Thursday afternoon, and had the lunch special. Along about 1 PM, a large crowd started coming in, and pretty soon you had a bunch of rowdy Cajuns and coast rats playing pool and getting loud....they were already getting started on their "90 Hour weekend". The next day, a guy I was working with told me, "Let's not go back in there to eat", and showed me a HUGE dead rat that was outside in the front.

I've had that several times! +1 <div>
</div><div>I also recommend the Paneed Chicken Italiano at Trapani's. Think Chicken Parmesan, but done "New Orleans style". Their Red Gravy is to die for.</div>

we've had afishing camp on the Pearl for 20 yearsandThe Turtle Landing is definitely where you will get acquainted with the locals(and not some place i would guess anyone would bring up here).it's not a rough place, but it's a dive. sit out back on the porch and order a hamburger poboy with cheese and a beer. it's not gourmet but it's a 2 minute drive vs 15-20 into BSL/waveland and Ricky's isn't much better as far as poboys go.

if you want a rougher place try thepublic boat launch down washington after dark....and there are plenty of gatorsright in the river. if you have access to a boat, they aresupposed to be catching specks at the trestle 10 mins south down the river.
