in the athletic world I'm going to say 38-23.
I shuttered though when I read where Cohen mentioned we need our freshman to put in 200 innings this season.

will be a damn good season for us. I'll put my expectation level at 33 without cancellations.

We will depend on a lot of freshmen this year. They will show flashes of brilliance and even more flashes of being Fr.

I won't to see us improve from last year mainly. I mostly want to see us stop completely <17>in' up on the base path. That alone should result in 3 wins over last year's total, all else equal.

we should be better offensively, up the middle defensively and if Devin Jones is as good as advertised as the closer, that looks like a 8 game improvement to about 32 wins. I'm hoping for better, but having to rely on so many freshmen pitchers has me going conservative. On the other hand, baring unforseen circumstances, next year should see us in the 40-45 win category, hosting a regional and super regional and heading to Omaha. I'll be there at first pitch next Friday.

Keeping my fingers crossed for a trip to Hoover this year which would most probably assure a regional somewhere.

I have full faith in Cohen. He has never failed with any team he has been with. We have young arms yes, but we have an abundance of young arms. Meaning if one gets in trouble, we got more in reserve. Go read what Powers (our best hitter) has to say about those young arms. Some of them are very special. I don't remember Maholm getting to bothered by being a freshman his first year. Before you even think it, I know, Maholm was a first round draft pick and special I know. Who's to say that some of our arms that we have now won't be like that.

All I'm saying is watch out for this team. Every player on this team has THAT attitude.

and a 6 seed in the SEC Tournament. We get a 3 seed in a close regional and make it to the final day, but no pitching=no Omaha.

it is not all that uncommon fortalentedfreshmen to be successful in college baseball. because of the natureof the sportother players' athleticism does not directly affect an individual's success. i'm not saying it's easy for a freshman to come in and be a stud but in baseball it seems that pure ability shines through quicker than in football andevenbasketball.

just my opinion but if these young pitchers are the real deal they could be extremely successful early on and with a big time offensive threat like powers we could take a huge step up. and if any of these young pitchers has a no hitter in the ninth just pray that they don't hit a routine grounder to snead.</p>

but if he makes the routine play then there are three outs before the guy that actually broke up the no hitter comes to the plate.

with some potential to get a couple more if the pitching is truly spectacular for freshmen
