CG converts on several 4th downs, but a holding call on 4th&3 at the BN 10 forces a FG try. No good
29.9 seconds to go in 3rd Qtr

CG down 10 with 2 minutes to go and still calling FB dives. Bold strategy.
I feel like they lost that game in the 3rd when they took 15min off the clock down 3 scores. And they really had no urgency to run plays. I still don't get why you would want your qb to run an extra 40yards between plays instead of signaling plays in.

Totally agree on the CG clock management. Cost them a legit chance end of the day. Credit the BN coaching staff. Great defensive game plan and did just enough on offense to secure the W.

That's their offense though. Going hurry up and throwing it would have given them even less of a chance to win. You're talking about a team that might have 10 pass plays in their play book and throws it maybe twice a game. Asking them to start throwing down field isn't what they do. This is what can happen with an offense like this, you get down by more than one score and you're in trouble.

I feel old I still remember when Belvedere HS was a powerhouse back in the 80’s and 90’s before the split running the wishbone under Vern Pottinger. Probably the biggest win for the city since then.

Was just thinking about that. They won 5A in 1993 and then came down to 4A in 1994 and walked all over Morris 28-0 in the title game.

BN’s Fumble return for the TD in the 1st Q was a BIG deal 14 point swing and gave them momentum. CG not getting anything gout if their 3rd Q drive was really the nail in the coffin,lf the FG doesn’t hit the upright, maybe it’s a different ending. BN played very well and deserved to win.
