Welcome to 2025 College Football. He wants either Manning or Ewers for 2025.

Ewers is projected to be a first round pick. First round picks get a contract of $10mil per year to $4mil per year. So if he is projected as a high first round pick, it's doubtful any NIL/Collective deal will come close to that. Plus he'd be a year ahead to his second contract, usually where the big money is made.

As crazy and stupid as some of these rich alumni apparently are, I've been wondering when the payments start reaching the level where they affect the NFL. So far, they haven't. It's just been the older guys who are trying to milk the last ounces of their career.

If MVB was worth $1.5mm to LSU as a backup, I bet Ewers could get $5mm from somebody this cycle. I don't remember all the stages of grief but I am at the point where I enjoy watching it all burn to the ground.

Yeah. UNC or someone else might match his 1st year NFL salary, if he falls to the bottom of the 1st round (projection I saw has him right in the middle of 1st round). But they can't come close to making up the difference in what he'd lose by pushing that 2nd NFL contract back a year. He gone.

I heard Mel Kiper say on ESPN just a few minutes ago that Ewers should not declare for the draft unless he tears it up in the playoffs. Said his draft stock has dropped a lot this year. For whatever that is worth.
