Most fun.... Vince Vance and the Valiants 1973 in the Cowbarn. Place was packed and many people there were dressed in their "50`s" gear. Don`t ever remember a crowd getting into a show like that(could have possibly had something to do with recreational drugs and beer) After the concert we invited the band to a party we were having at Wood Manor and they all came, along with about 200 of our closest friends. Lasted til dawn...good times.

Man, ya'll are talking about seeing some of the greatest musicians of all time while all we get is some freaking ***** band like FUN. Geeez, there has got to be better people for them to get than emo punk bands. They suck. I would love to have had Billy Joel or Jimmy Buffet. Not this crap they give us now. Bulldog Bash with Jake Owen and the Avett Bros was awesome. This past years kinda sucked. Whoever is scheduling this stuff needs to step it up.

Whitesnake and Great White was the loudest show I ever saw anywhere. Couldn't hear anything except ringing in my ears for four days. Good show.

Miss those days...

My list

Springsteen
Bon Jovi
Kansas
Heart (and on Valentine's Day)
Earth, Wind & Fire
Commodores
Willie and Waylon together
Bocephus
Frampton
Billy Joel , with the quote at the close, "Goodnight Mississippi State! Don't ever take $h!t from nobody!"
Buffett
Ronnie Milsap, only because of the then obscure opening act that stole the show. They called themselves Alabama.
Huey Lewis and the News (as an opening act)

I was at that one....

Linda Rhonstadt. 1980 or 81. She was great looking and wore the jersey of one of our offensive linemen who played in the usfl. 3rd row floor seats that night. A blast.

She wore an XXL practice jersey with a belt like a mini dress. Put on a good show. Livingston Taylor opened.

Heart and Frampton. I hated Tina Turner but Mr Mister opened up for her and was great.

Huey Lewis and the News and 38 special would have to be a close third behind Heart and Frampton.

Rick Springfield was ok.

The Pointer Sisters came in the late eighties and they were pretty good too.

Night Ranger was awesome. I'd love to say Bon Jovi was great but I got thrown out before they got on stage.

I missed Willie, but I remember a baseball game (or something) going on at the same time and It looked like a mushroom cloud of smoke coming out of the big ac units outside humphrey. I'll bet you could have gotten stoned to the bejesus just standing near those.

This is the only concert I went to in The Hump during my time there.

For all the talk of Starkville being a two-horse jerkwater town during the 80's, it seems like the concerts were WAY better then.

Heart ...almost got arrested for going in womens Restroom by Mistake. Then woke

up in a cheap motel in West Point that is now gone with a Beautiful Blond and a Sexy Redhead Girl. My Dick was so sore i considered amputation and i had a horrible taste in my mouth mouth that smelled like the *** end of a skunk. The sad part is i don't remember anything after the near arrest and spent the next week getting rid of the CRABS.

Springsteen 1981 The River Tour was the best I went to. He opened with Thunder Road. He started it off then let the audience sing the whole first verse. It got better from there. It was the height of his abilities. They left 2 empty cases of Heineken by the back door that we saw the next morning heading to the locker room.

Heart was there two years in a row and one year right after Baseball practice was over Nancy Wilson was in the training room in The Hump. She was not feeling well and they tried to keep us out. She did play that night.
I saw Waylon and Willie there in 79 I believe.
other concerts I attended there are Commodores (with Lionel Ritchie), America, Frampton, Jimmy Buffet

A few of my frat brothers partied the night before with Clarence. Said he was a real down-to-earth nice guy. Yes, The Boss put on a helluva show.

During my tenure 2007-11, only group I saw at the Hump was Three 6 Mafia and it was boring. I passed on OAR because most of their stuff is...meh. I would've loved to see ZZ Top and Panic!

Bon Jovi

Wanted Dead or Alive video was filmed during that show. I was a stagehand and the girls that were screaming to me and my buddy for pics off the micstand were absolutely crazy. We were throwing all kinds of **** to them, stuff they probably wanted to keep.
