Always wanted to know who people think the best coach in the state right now, in my opinion I gotta give it to Todd Willert @East Forsyth or Cardinal Gibbons program head Coach both done a great job recently !

Lots of good coaches in NC. Getting harder and harder to keep them. Several have been listed above. I have always been pretty impressed with the job Shane Laws does at AC Reynolds. Habich does a great job as do Pittman at Mitchell and Robinson at Mtn Heritage. Sosebee at Hendo really has them playing at a high level. Radford at Asheville appears to be the class of the newer younger coaches in the mountains. Idk who is the best but these are some guys in my area who deserve to have their name mentioned.

I agree with SammyK from Rolesville. I once was a little down on him back in the old days because he seemed to disparge Indy and thus the entirety of NC ball because he often seemingly stated back then that most average teams from up north could beat them. He didnt outright slander them however

But like mentioned the work he has put in cannot be denied. I think him taking Rolesville to the success they have had, and having to compete and do it all in the time of great success from rival Wake Forest , is phenomenal . It has made me really take notice of his job performance. Really phenomenal job he has done there at Rolesville.

What Jammie Deese has done at Forest Hills in less than 2 years should be mentioned. He also has brought in a really good sophomore QB from Providence that will lead his offense the next 2 years.

Deese may not be in this conversation yet, but he’s knocking on the door.

Was that QB on JV for Providence this year?

Current has 66.6% chance of winning a state championship.
Actually, regardless of the Coach, the Shelby program AVERAGES playing in the Championship game.
Shelby AVERAGES making the title game.
82% playoff winning percentage.
Every year.
For the past 50 years.

Think about it.

Classification of secondary schools is performed by officially sanctioned bodies to attempt to provide an equitable grouping of potential talent for athletic competition. Across North America, the classes have often been based on enrollmentlevels of the schools, with many leagues using classifications named A, AA, AAA, etc., with the number of As denoting schools with larger enrollment.

Your 4A is somebody’s 2A with a 6A.
Pettiness is another form of jealousy.
You are so obvious.
19 rings versus 3. The kids don’t care about what you do.
You don’t think all programs wouldn’t trade places in a heartbeat.

2A 🏆 playing the weakest competition in the state. You're a great 2A program. Nothing more and nothing less. Jealous of what? I’ve never watched an entire 2A game ever.🤷🏾‍♂️ Zero interest!

In Nepsy's defense, Teague was kinda average in his 2 years at GW Danville which is 3A (Equivalent to North Carolina's 4A) in 2010 & 2011. West Forsyth beat both of those teams in a home & away series.

I had no clue who Jimmy Teague was :) The guy is upset because i don't follow 2A Football. He assumes I have problems with giving creditability of successful coaches in 2A. Congrats to Coach Teague and his 8 State titles.

Get over yourself. It’s not that serious man! I’m guilty of watching only 4A football. AND?
I will say you should branch and watch all classes. My sons old high school has 185 kids. 24 on the team. Maybe 15 play a lot. You play both ways you know you can’t come out of the game. If your tired you suck it up for your teammates and there is no quit.

Just curious Nepsy. Have you heard of Tom Brown? Allen Brown? Lance Ware? David Gentry? I don’t really follow 4A, but I know who Knotts is😊.

No Sir i have not! Unfortunately I can't name drop a list of great High School coaches of NC i know. I would imagine they are all great coaches. I lived in 6 States and 3 country's before i got out of high school. Moved here from Atlanta in 2000. Didn't start following NC High School Football until 2009. So I'm light years behind most in knowing the great Coaches of NC. I do personally know numerous college coaches though. :)
