I would like to see Mitchell and Swain renew their annual meeting. Also, wouldn't mind Hendo and Mitchell meeting back up.

Polk were middle of the road three of the four years, one bad year in '97. Their overall SMC record was 12-20.I didn't know that. What were the results like for Polk in the SMC?

This is a very interesting statement. What do you think has been the reasons for decline in games. It does seem like blow outs are way more common now.The league was really tough overall during that time period, very few easy games.

Too many options. Back in my day we played all sports, very little specialization. The gap between the haves and have nots was not as pronounced between the schools.I agree with you, but I also think there are some other factors. Robbinsville lost their furniture factory and are still going strong. Andrews’ results weren’t much different even when they were still making Lee jeans and the hospital was open. Hayesville was pretty good in the 90s and early 2000s but has fallen off even though Clay County didn’t take any huge hits from NAFTA. Participation numbers, teenagers’ mindset, tradition, culture, and some other factors play into it, too, I think.
